Perfect neighbourhood deli. Has improved massively in the past year. Great selection of goods and friendly service.
The shop is like the world's best larder. Radio 3 is piped through the place lending it a pleasing ambience. The cafe in the ante-building is converted to a seasonal Christmas shop for a couple of months a year and the cafe moves into the deli. All of the pastry products are stunning, as are the salads. A real neighbourhood gem.
Lots of fresh produce and friendly counter staff. There was not too much of a queue when I visited on a Sunday afternoon - will definitely return!
Staff wasn't wearing masks when I entered the shop. Right after I came in, they all put it on and one of the staff members served me cheese without washing his hands. I was very disappointed given that at the moment 1 in 30 people have COVID in london. I won't be going there until after the pandemic ends...
We bought some food and sat at a table outside. I’m 9 months pregnant and I asked to use the toilet. but they didn’t let me which was very disappointing.
Nice guys, good hygiene, a decent selection and great prices.
Thank goodness for the Deli Downstairs. What an amazing job Sophie and her team are doing during such dreadful times. They are open every day, well stocked, and managing to be friendly under the most extraordinary circumstances.
