Great food made the way I like. I would say traditional but that's not quite accurate. Great menu of hearty food, really nicely cooked. Lovely staff though not always easy to get their attention. A little bit rustic and cramped but a great place to go if you want a really good meal.
Stopped for lunch. It is a welcoming, lovely old pub/ restaurant. Fires made it look inviting. I had the baked potato with cheese and ham which was delicious especially as the cheese was melted. My partner had the salt beef sandwich, that he thoroughly enjoyed, saying the beef was lovely and tender. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
Just had lunch here with friends and the food is outstanding!!! Anyone complaining about the price sadly need to stick to the harvester chains. We spent 3 hours here and all had 3 courses with 2 drinks each for under £180 including the service charge. Service was professional, friendly and the perfect level of attentiveness. Looking forward to coming back again soon.
This very old pub/restaurant is very busy so I would book ahead if you can. The food was delicious if a bit too cold for me. As this is an old building watch your head as you walk around inside. They have plenty of tables outside with a few in little garden nooks to sit in
What a great pub! We stopped here for lunch in the middle of a hike. The pub was very accommodating despite us being a larger group of wet and muddy hikers, and the food and service were both great. It was a charming countryside pub with low ceilings and a warm, cozy fireplace. I’d love to return if I find myself in Compton again.
Isnt it lucky that all pubs are not like this. Makes it very special when you find the Withies. Food cooked to perfection and served by a professional. Ale ,so well kept you must have another. I wish we lived closer. Food & drinks: Worth the 100 mile journey. Perfect.
A rural Inn, but V close to Guildford. Excellent service and choice of drinks, both wine and real ale. I didn't dine, but my friends intimate that the food is superior for pub food.
WOW, very expensive - however, very QWERTY and unique family pub. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Beer garden and carpark facilities brilliant - Had a wonderful time, food and beverages went down quite well!!!!. I would recommend this to anyone.Service: 5/5

Absolutely outstanding, cannot say enough how wonderful our stay was. Was taken by my mum and sister, as they have stayed before, and they had loved it. Honestly was bowled over, the staff could not do enough to help you, so very very friendly and made you so welcome, the accommodation was immaculate and so comfy and had everything you needed and was in a beautiful setting. The food was out of this world, we had dinner there and I had the steak and it melted in your mouth. Also the breakfast was delicious I had the salmon and scrambled eggs and it was the best I had ever eaten. In a nutshell would HIGHLY recommend here for a visit, I can’t wait to go back. Well deserved 5 stars.
