Fantastic ambience, chill vibes and great service. Very quiet in the evening, no too-loud pub chatter or folk music. There’s a variety of ales, IPAs and cider to choose from. Menu was quite limited but there’s something for everyone.
The White House is situated in a picturesque scene right by Guildford Bridge, below the famous cobbled high street. Lovely atmosphere by the river side, goodish service and the food was really good! Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed
I Met a friend for a coffee in Guilford and we went to this PH. We were very well served by the staff who also opened the terrace for us to seat outside in the sunshine. It has a great view for the river. I was pleased with the service, venue and location.
Relaxing ambience, nice and fresh brews on tap, outdoor seating in summer is the best, it gets super silent after 6ish in the evening, Guildford town centre is equally silent. go with their chips and beer. Great conversations over a beer! Look for recommended pours for beer, chefs recommendation for food, wines are available by bottle, menu is not lavish but has got something for everyone. Fact: Restroom/Toilet is upstairs, don’t hold too long
Waaw! Really nice and peaceful location, enjoying the shade from the big willow trees along the River Way. The open space makes it ideal for family get together. The food is fresh and cooked to order, they use app ordering from your table so, make sure you allow plenty of time when place your order. No free parking, but you can use the car park next to it on the weekend £1.50 for 3h. Totally recommend after a nice stroll around the Guildford Castle, or even just after you finish from the hustle and bustle of the town.
I've been here several times and I'm quite satisfied with the place. I had drinks, lunch, dinner here and never complained. The staff is super kind and sweet, and they have an appetising menu, although I have tried better sticky toffee pudding elsewhere. It's especially pleasant around spring and summer, when you can sit outside or close to the terrace as it has a lovely view to the river. It's definitely worth going there.
The view of the river is really beautiful BUT the food quality is not so good. I ordered a kids meal pasta bolognese, it looks nice but it taste really dry, some of them are hard, and most importantly it’s cold!! So we asked the waiter to give us another one, and at last what they gave me back is the same pasta and it’s still dry and hard!! Not recommended!!
Lovely pub, nice decor, nice atmosphere. Had some food, beautifully prepared starters and a lovely main course, shout out to the kitchen staff. Also great table service with some nice touches. Recommended.
Food was delicious. Drinks were appetising. Scenery was beautiful. Staff were delightful. The cheese board was very, very good. My wife and I had a very memorable lunch, especially in December as the staff made it feel very festive and cosy. We love the The White House.
Delicious chips, not too loud inside, great holiday decorations, and speedy service. The proximity to the river is also lovely. Would definitely return here.
