Very good meal. Really liked the Mediterranean fish soup and sea bream. Only bug bear was that we were seated in an extremely bright sun spot in the conservatory section.
I received a Virgin Experience Days 3 course meal for 2 with presecco voucher for my 50th birthday. The meal tonight was absolutely amazing. The service was fantastic. This place was wonderful. I would definitely go back again but also would buy this as a gift for someone.
Delicious food, waiters are very attentive, and super nice atmosphere. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Guildford.
I went to The March Hare upon my neighbors recommendation. I was certainly not disappointed. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the food I had was delicious. Service was good too. I’ll definitely be back there again .
Great gastro pub with French and British food, packed to the rafters on a Saturday evening, so book in advance. The duck cassoulet and coq au vin were amazing. Don't forget to leave some space for the pistachio souffle

Friendly staff, went out of their way to make sure we are comfortable. Food was delicious and big portions. Yorkshire pudding was slightly burnt and soufflé a little too sweet but could be me. Right next to castle, def another go to place
Have been many times and the food and service is always great. Most recently went for a Sunday lunch with my mum. We were greeted with a smile and taken to our table. Our waitress was El, very friendly bubbly and attentive. So great to see the service industry returning with a smile. Food as always was great, although a bit stingy on the gravy extra is available and is free, so just ask! Recommend booking, the place was heaving, but not unpleasant or over crowded. Staff looked very busy so maybe one more would’ve been good just to calm the atmosphere slightly. Will definitely return
Reasonably good. A nice looking place with a great selection of drinks and a nice menu. On the food front there were a few things on the menu that came out not as described and the quality was reasonable but maybe not of the level that the price required, an example being the mango and passion fruit crumble is a cold fruit salad with some crumb on top and not anywhere near what a "crumble" dish would suggest. Came as a big group and service was good. Everything was reasonable but at their price point I think there are better places to spend your money on food.
Hit and miss. Food is ok, some things are very good and some things are not great, it just looks fancy. It's overly expensive. I'm still crying for the 9 quid pistachio soufflé with rich chocolate ice cream. It wasn't pistachio!!! It was a green coloured almond soufflé that didn't taste of anything like pistachio do you think your clients are stupid? And the chocolate ice cream was just completely normal chocolate ice cream, not rich, not dark, not anything, just the ice cream no one likes. The rest of the food was hit and miss. Salmon and the steak just look so sad and boring, felt sorry for the people who ordered them. Bangers and mash were delicious. On top of all this they charge you for the service without warning you I suppose you get to see your bill when you're at the restaurant, but not at the pub as you pay directly at the till. I find this outrageous as it's like having a tax over the price on the menu. Just add all the expenses to the prices!! People come here knowing it's an expensive place, so why don't you pay your staff decently? I took a few days to review this place so I could do it with a clearer mind, but writing this has just upset me again at how much I spent for an okay and deceiving meal. I definitely won't go again or recommend this place, although I've had friends go before who did have a good experience. Up to you.
