We always visit Winterbourne whenever we are in Birmingham. It is a really relaxing place to spend an afternoon. It is really close to the centre of Birmingham and yet so peaceful. The gardens are beautiful in any season and really well cared for. The house is an Edwardian museum, a must for fans of William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement. It was home to a prominent Birmingham businessman and his large family and the exhibition inside gives touching insight into their lives there. There is a lovely tea room, a craft shops and an art gallery but the real draw is the gardens. There is an amazing variety of plants, trees and flowers.

An absolutely stunning place. The gardens are wonderful and the greenhouses are exceptional; a fantastic place to spend the day with lots to see both inside and outside. The Carnivorous Plant collection was the largest I've ever seen. Lush vegetation was packed into every inch of the greenhouse and identifying each plant put my horticultural knowledge to the test. As well as the house and the botanical gardens to explore, there's also a printing press onsite housing several 19th century printing presses. Visit on a Friday and there will be volunteers to show you how the printing press works. Winterbourne is usually £6 to enter (and worth every penny) but open to the public for free on specific days during Birmingham Heritage Week. It's absolutely worth a visit - even if you have to travel - to see the stunning gardens and greenhouses.

It was interesting looking round the house/museum it had a nice tea room. The gardens and grounds were fantastic only a couple of miles from the city centre but each part of the garden had surprises it is well kept and managed. We went through a small gate in a wooded area courtesy of the golf course .

Beautiful early twentieth century house steeped in the industrial heritage of the area. Would always recommend a visit and the garden's should be good in the spring/summer.

Have visited several times with friends and family. Interesting house and the gardens are fantastic, changing in colour etc.as the seasons change. Pleasant tearoom and a glorious lake. Several hours can be spent here especially when the weather is nice. Highly recommended for all ages.
