I was pleased with Solihull and would recommend them because they are knowledgeable, honest, extremely helpful and genuine. Samantha Right was very diligent in ensuring the car was serviced on time and provided realtime updates on on phone/voice message/sms.. communication was first rate, which was a refreshing change from the industry norm.
Excellent customer service, I thought my car was making a sound so I popped down to Volkswagen Solihull. The workshop controller Saaqib took time out to accompany me on a test drive and explained to me what the sound was and why it was happening and even rectified it on the spot for me! Couldn’t be happier and what a massive relief! Will definitely be paying these guys a visit when my next service is due, thanks again!
It was a good experience until the collection day, then everything went downhill. The day I was supposed to drive away with the newly purchased vehicle, I was informed that it was 'just' found out that the turbo was lagging and it needed replacement. Of course, the warranty would cover it and I was quickly offered a courtesy car. Initially, I appreciated the 'honesty' and the attempts to find solutions, I was even offered the sales person company car as there were no other vehicles available. However, I decided to cancel the purchase as it was not a great start and I was unsure I could trust the reliability of the vehicle or them. At that point, all the smiles disappeared and the answer was 'turbos usually fail every 4 years, it's normal'....I'm afraid it's not. Unluckily, they forgot to give me my driver license back and I forgot they had it due to the stress of the moment. I realised the following day and rang for confirmation - they were busy in that moment, but no call back a while after. I had to go there without the reassurance they had it, I was greeted by a disrespectful person who thought the situation was funny and asked 'if he could sell us four Touaregs'. I'm still unsure why they did not send me an email or contacted me when they found it, they are usually super quick replying, specially with money involved. It just shows they only care about sales, not people. The vehicle with the turbo issue was again for sale, so be aware. I really hope they really check it this time and inform the next customer in advance.....
Excellent customer service - I made a blunder by coming one week earlier for my appointment but Rachel made sure to authorise my repair so that the next week appointment would ensure repair goes ahead. Marissa? was awesome and offered me reassurance that repair would be done on the same day. At the end of the day I saw yet another Lady who was well informed and made sure my keys were retrieved. Normally seeing three different members of staff for the same issue can be daunting but they followed up from each other without issue. Well done Team!
I will say that the experience at Johnsons Volkswagen was fantastic. From the initial introduction phone call to walking in and being greeted by Sam to having the car serviced and cleaned thereafter to receiving a comprehensive summary of the service and MOT. Sam went out of her way to help with the digital service book on the BMW which was a personal touch that just topped of the day. Thank you to Sam and the Service team at Johnsons.
We have just bought a Golf from VW Solihull. We were so pleased to have been looked after by Bal. He was so friendly, knowledgeable and really professional. Communication has been excellent throughout. The whole process has been very positive.
I went in to the dealership whilst my boyfriend was collecting his new car, Calvin stood with me the whole time telling me about the company and certain cars which was so lovely. He was so polite, knows the company and knows how to talk to customers. Thank you so much Calvin!

When it come to sale they are great very friendly and they will always answer your calls but absulately unprofessional and awful when it come to repairs or complaints. Bought an approved car in April 2022 and in October 2022 found out the brake disk are heavily corroded. When complaint to VW and without watching the video that was recorded by Alan Day VW in London they just gave the reason “oh its because lack of use and rain”. Im using my car every single day and its impossible for it to be heavily corroded within 6 months. After watching the video they have agreed to pay half of the cost only if i take the car from London to birmingham just because they cannot trust another VW dealership apparently which i have not accepted. BTW to come to this point i had to chase them up for good 4 weeks. I have asked their offer in writing so that i could go to motors ombudsman. The sales manager Simon on Tuesday 8th November said that he will email me the offer on Thursday 10th November. Ive waited whole day didn’t receive anything. Called Simon at 5oclock Thursday 10th November he has promised that he will send the email in 10 mints. I had to call every single day until 14th November just to receive a 2 sentence email. I have given my number to receptionist for at least 6 times. Every single time i was promised by the receptionist that he will get in touch me but never happened. As if I have not spoken to him previously Simon was asking his employees to call me who has no idea of my enquiry. Absolutely unprofessional. Couldn’t regret more!
I had to take my vehicle here for an issue right after purchasing the car from another VW dealer back in July 2022. The car has been back to Solihull VW 5 times and finally on the 6th time the problem was solved. Unfortunately, during the process, the rear end of my car was damaged, and I have been awaiting a manager call back for a long time now as the vehicle had been in possession of Solihull VW for over 9 weeks over the last 4.5 months of my ownership. I have been extremely patient during the entire process with them and this may have just made it easier for them to prioritise other jobs/customers instead of myself to meet their quotas and KPIs as I have no doubt they operate like robots. If you want a professional, courteous and well-managed garage, this is not the place to rely on. Solihull VW excels in ignorance and lack of empathy for their customers, as reflected by numerous negative reviews with many likes, which are undoubtedly from people with similar experiences. If this is what you are after, then here’s some advice: there are numerous garages in Birmingham instead that offer the same service possibly even more respectful at least that will cost you half the price. Avoid at all costs. It seems as if the owner only replies to positive reviews, and that says a lot about their service.
