Have visited the Winning Post many times, recently, on my own , and with friends and family.nI have been really impressed with the food, the friendly, professional staff they have to be everywhere, all at once, it seems and value for money.nWould recommend the burgers and the chicken and bacon ciabatta.nAtmosphere depends on how busy it is ‍nWill be back soon…
My family first started coming to The Winning Post a good 40 yrs ago. It went under different management & sadly went downhill. Now I have my own family we decided to come & see how it was.nUnder new management again its like the old place has returned.nThe staff are EXCELLENT. Really polite, happy & approachable. The food was DELICIOUS. My Uncle & I had Roast pork dinner & Roast beef dinner. My fiance, Daughter & her boyfriend all had Signature chicken burgers. The prices are decent. It was busy, but the staff were very professional & the atmosphere was really lovely.nWE WILL BE BACK.
Absolutely wonderful Pub an Grill. Extremely warm welcome from the bar and restaurant staff. Prompt efficient service. 5 of us eat and drank for under £90. Great value for money. It was very clean and well kept. The loos seemed to be clean and fresh. Ample spacious free parking outside.nWe have had a nice present visit to the Winning Post, well done Greene King.
I always use to eat tomahawk steak at winning post at list once a moth however after today I need to say that will need to be reconsider, chef ruin my steak instead of medium cooked I got very close to well done with well burned edges which taste bitter as hell.nThe quality of the stake had a lot to ask as well as there was more fat and bone than the actual dry meat. Never had this problem with Winning post but after today and waiting almost 40 min for my stake decided to share my thoughts. I did gave back my steak after few bites. Lovely member of staff did ask me how was my steak and I did share my opinion with her and said I’m so hungry I will try to eat but when I reach to the burned part it was enough for me. We left the Winning post and went to eat somewhere else.
My mum and I went to the Winning Post today, we hadn’t booked, but fortunately were able to get a table. There was a slight mix up with my order, as I ordered the vegetable pie, but got the mushroom wellington instead, I had been torn between the two so it wasn’t a problem for me, although I did mention it to our server at the time who was very apologetic, but it was an honest mistake and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. My mum had the Turkey roast. Both meals were delicious and really good sized portions, so much so neither of us could eat it all! If you have a smaller appetite then I would suggest ordering the children’s size meal, which they are happy to accommodate. The staff were really welcoming and friendly and the service was great. Neither of us have been here for many years, but would not hesitate to come here again.
