Delicious sandwiches, salads and fresh seafood at a reasonable price, fantastic for lunch. Friendly service. Loved the use of sandcastle buckets to have all the condiments and cutlery in. Tasty "Prawn Juice" beer. I had the popcorn shrimp with sweet chilli sauce baguette and it was great! Would highly recommend and will come back next time we are in the area!
Visited this beautiful place for breakfast on Sunday. The location, interior and exterior were all great. We both has flat white along with lemon drizzle which was delicious. I will definitely come back to this place. Free Wi-Fi is very essential in this location as there was no signals to our phones to even pay for the parking online because parking machine was only accepting coins.
Perfect location just across the road from the beach so you can have fun on the beach with the little ones and then head over to the restaurant for a drink and some food . Good food , nice service , slightly pricey but you are paying for the view and location so you expect it , we always make a couple of visits everytime we go on holiday to salcome when we head to the beach. Would definitely recommend a visit .
What a find! Great location and food was delicious. Most impressed by the quality of service and the speed at which we were served. If only all establishments were so brilliantly run. Well done to all the staff who were so polite,attentive and interested.
The Winking Prawn is the only beach cafe we saw at Salcombe, North Sands which offered scenic views sheltered by tall shards of greenery. We were seated outdoors and started our meal with a delicious jug of Pimms. The staff were incredibly kind and had a lot of knowledge of the local area. After an hour of being seated we ordered our food: an incredibly soft prawn cocktail, half a pint of fried prawns, Fruits De Mer and fries. The food was fresh, seasonal and carefully prepared on the BBQ. I particularly enjoyed the accompaniments of: Mixed Dressed Salad Bowl, Warm Dressed Potatoes, Half Baguette, Garlic Mayo, Black Pepper Dip, Sweet Chilli Sauce and BBQ Dip. I cannot believe we ended up staying seated for 3.5 hours! Glad to have gone before the rush hour to thoroughly enjoy the food, view and company. Thank you so much for having us!

Lovely food and great service but when we told them that a customer was letting one of their dogs walk over the table and photograph the dog with paws on the table, a member of staff went on the defense telling us they were a regular & not to worry over it as they disinfect the tables. What we saw is they wipe them over. Having a dog on the table needs more than a wipe. Hence we will not be returning. Love dogs but their place is on the floor!
Here for a sauna and brunch winter birthday treat. Friendly welcome, stunning setting, good food and wines choice. Perfect nourishment after the hot/cold of the sauna. Loved itFood: 4/5
Lovely location that we have used on and off over the past 30 years. Food was good but lack of effort on behalf of the waitering staff made for a rather disappointing evening. Felt we had got in their way at times, despite a group of twenty. Would have thought that they might have been pleased to see us, as not cheap. Shame, as was such a special place in its day.
Amazing place for lunch with amazing views! We've never been disappointed by the food here - slightly on the more pricey side, but you get what you pay for. Super fresh and delicious, and the perfect spot for lunch.Food: 5/5
