Great staff. Fish was large and well cooked - not greasy. Tartar sauce had nice flavor. Price was very reasonable. View from outdoor seating was spectacular.
Went to the windwhistle today with a party of 13 adults and 1 child. The service was excellent, the food was lovely. We all had the carvery it was very nice and the pudding was to die for. Can really recommend this pub for it's food. Thank you so much for having us it was great for us as a family gathering.
Hadn't visited in a long while and it felt that the interior had been updated which made it feel a lot brighter than I remembered. We went for an evening meal this time and although relatively busy easily got a table. Food, drinks and service was good so would recommend it.
Called in for lunch today with a friend, asked for a meal that was gluten free. Sadly the meal was most definitely not gluten free and the food was not edible. Chips were recorded chips and not freshly done. Gammon was way too salty. Spoke to a lady over messenger to tell her I had been ill due to the food not being gluten free and got told I was a liar. Great well done windy! Definitely won't be recommending and won't be eating there again! What happened to the customer is always right?!
Had a table for 12. Not impressed with the food, one meal went back and the others weren't very good, grissly steak, even had to ask for steak knifes. Waiter didn't seem bothered that we wasn't impressed. Lot of money for a bad meal. Sorry but won't be returning...!
Had lunch there today, glad I had booked or we wouldn't have been in the cosy bar. I had a burger with cheese and bacon, coleslaw and skinny chips. Burger was delicious as was the coleslaw which was homemade. Orchard Pig Revellers cider topped off a lovely meal, we'll be back!
Thank you for letting us depart from your car park for the start of my sister's funeral and for the lovely meal we had later that evening, the staff made us feel very welcome, the greeted us with a smile and nothing was too much trouble for them, the views are amazing from there, the place was clean and tidy, congratulations to the new owners on doing a great job there.
Lovely country pub, first time I'd been there in 20 years! Lovely home cooked food washed down with a pint of tribute! Proper!!
Great food, friendly and attentive staff. Had a delicious carvery to celebrate our anniversary and plan our next trip with the rest of the family.
Lovely pub, friendly staff, good lasagne and well kept beer. Food a little slow to come but the staff made it clear up front that the kitchen was swamped. Will certainly stop again.
