Had a meal here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Nothing better than a cold beer and a glass of wine sat in the sunshine by the pond. Only ones there, had to wait until 6pm when chef started work. Worth the wait, beautifully cooked steaks although a little undercooked for my Wife's liking but good value. Well looked after by the receptionist/barmaid/waitress, very welcoming and very chatty. Will definitely go again. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch. Had roast beef which was a very generous serving and lovely roast potatoes. Good service and a beautiful setting. Have eaten at another very popular place near Chard but not as nice as Hornsbury Mill.
Absolute pleasure to photograph a wedding here. There's a lovely intimate atmosphere to the place. Peacocks and the old mill features make it truly unique and to top it off the staff are particularly friendly and helpful. No worrying about the weather too, because there's a place indoors and outdoors for the ceremony!
Comfortable stay whilst working away, last minute booking, gent on reception very welcoming, food had finished when I arrive which was a shame 8.45pm but not an issue I went and collected something, hotel was accommodating and arranged an earlier breakfast for me which helped my day, all freshly cooked too, had a quick look round in the morning during daylight and its a lovely building and setting,
Have twice dined here and have not been disappointed. The first time the dining room was full, the second we and our friends were the only diners for most of our meal. The view of the old water mill wheel is a lovely touch. The food is freshly cooked and delicious. All 4 of us were highly delighted with our meals and I had the best liver and bacon I've ever had! It looks the most fabulous setting for a wedding with picturesque grounds.
Truly amazing place. If you like a nice bit of piece and quiet this is 1 for you. A nice wander around the grounds with a lake, sit in the gazeb and watch the wild fowl. Sit with the peacocks. A working water wheel. Food was fantastic. Staff really friendly. Most rooms overlooking the grounds and very quiet on a night. Highly recommended. Thank you team hornsbury mill.

My wedding reception was amazing Jane was amazing she couldn’t do enough she went the extra mile for us every time. The food was superb in every way. The staff made our day run smoothly and no matter where we were we was always considered. Timings was amazing all through the day and was greeted with our welcome drink from the wedding car. All the team at Hornsburymill even down to the housekeeping was amazing all happy, all smiling and all went out there way to help Any way they could. all our guests that stayed at Hornsburymill commented how nice and clean it was , Also how nice out side was. They all played a part of making our day very special Thank you all staff at Hornsburymill most of all thank you Jane you are all amazing people I cannot thank you enough and I recommend anyone who is thinking about this venue to go ahead book it. First class wedding venue in a beautiful setting with lovely grounds, the staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble and made it a magical day for my daughter's special wedding day, the hotel rooms were of a high standard with a great breakfast and I really enjoyed my stay.Rooms: 5/5
As a wedding guest I found it a hospitable venue with pleasant staff, easily enough of them to get food out to all tables without noticeable delay. The food was very good and food intolerances were handled without any fuss. I found it a really good venue and couldn't fault it at all
