William Iv
"Originally the cottage home of a Mousehold shepherd, The King William IV now stands in the garden grounds, where it is thought to have been a tavern for at least 150 years recorded by Joseph Manning's 1834 survey of licensed premises.Telegraph Lane in those days would have been no more than a footpath leading from Gas Hill to Yarmouth Road. The lane named after the semaphoring system used in 1807, when the site of the water tower was as a vantage point to receive signals from Great Yarmouth should the French Invade.Steeped in atmosphere and peppered with unique architectural treasures Norwich with its magnificent Norman Cathedral dominating the sky line boosts the second tallest spire in the country"

Free parking, large airy en suite rooms, smart TV, table fridge tea coffee maker, bedside tables and lamps, heater and fan, hair dryer, mirror, shower gel hand wash towels. Very poor WiFi didn't connect at all. Breakfast next morning had good portions but sausage was stale and reheated and served with soggy toast. They have a pub downstairs with powerful sound system and karaoke machine music goes on till midnight so not ideal for early sleepers and risers. 20-30 mins walk from Norwich market/Cathedral and this is uphill so not ideal for older walkers with bad knees. Beer garden with BBQ at the back which can be rented for free with bring your own food if you buy alcohol from them so this place is good for backpackers or private parties rather than business travelers or older commuters Rooms: large airy en suite rooms, smart TV, table fridge tea coffee maker, bedside tables and lamps, heater and fan, hair dryer, mirror, shower gel hand wash towels. Had my 70th birthday party there. Staff were friendly, polite. Disco/karaoke was fabulous. Music to suit my era.
I enjoyed my stay, The room was comfortable and warm welcome from friendly staff, nice food and drink at reasonable prices, and a friendly atmosphere in the bar.Rooms: 4/5
Love the place and the people here are so nice and accomodating. Breakfast is huge and worth it. Love it!
Booked this for my partners surprise birthday, good turnout, music was good and we had karaoke which is always a winner. Drinks weren't overly priced. Clean facilities and a beautiful beer garden.
It was a very nice place . Traditional pub . Staff were family . Room was clean
Top notch place to host a private party in their function suite. Great price point with a live dj with karaoke included. The staff were fun, friendly and helpful. Ask for a Virgin Mary tomato juice and be ready to be seriously impressed! Cheers!!
Just a bit out of old Norwich. 14 mins walk from train station but with good parking. We stayed the night. Good good. Breakfast offered some choices and they were eager to help. Not a classy place, but not a classy price either. Thanks.
Absolutely fantastic place, friendly staff and lovely rooms. Really nice atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend!!
Stayed for 1 night, the room was really comfortable and warm. Excellent food and breakfast was great. I'm gluten, wheat and dairy free and they offered alternatives for all three. Thank you for a lovely stay
