Large, free car park by the riverside. Has disabled parking bays. Picnic area adjacent to it.
Nice free car park by the river in wetherby. Few walks nearby and close to the centre so can get very busy. The car park can flood as well woth it been so close to the riverbed. It is quite a steep climb to exit the car park as well so not a good idea of icy or snow. One way system
Free parking, on the river with nice walks and only 2 minutes from town centre. Also spaces are a good size for larger vehicles.
The car park has been flooded again. Why drivers park here when the weather is bad never ceases to amaze me! Apart from being damaged by the water from the river and debris brought up with it, there's holes in this car as if someone/ thing has deliberately stabbed holes in it! It really does beggar belief!
The area between Barnard Castle and Penrith is well designated as of exceptional natural beauty. The hills and valleys present wonderful walking opportunities and the wilderness car park provide a good base for some amazing walks.
Excellent car park 2min walk to the town Free to park visited today. Only problem is if disable like myself a bit of a hill to climb up to town centre.
How can you complain about free parking with beautiful views!? If you are limited on walking or in a wheelchair you may struggle getting up the hill into town but other than that it's great.
Always a nice Car Park. Rather large but the car spaces are rather small. However it's nice to see it's a free Car park although I wouldnt object to paying. Either a nice woodland walk to the left of the Car park or a nice water front walk to the right. Also close by the amenities. Today we chose the woodland walk and a little walk on the waterfront.
Lovely spot a minute from the town centre on the river bank and a family favourite spot to eat fish and chips bought at the Wetherby Whaler which is only 200 yards away. Be careful though when the river is in flood because if the river bursts it’s banks there the car park becomes flooded very quickly, especially at the entrance point.
A very busy car park dog walker and just to look at the river we go to eat food and walk our dog
