First time here, lovely location, as picture shows. Decided on the burger, my wife had the Asian duck salad, it was so spicy we had to ask for something else, so she had the sea bass. Very helpful staff, I suppose we should have asked about spices before ordering. No extra charge for changing, many thanks. We will return soon.
12 of us went for a meal on 19th Dec. The staff was very accommodating to our change of table requirement. We all had something different to eat and all 12 of us loved the food. I'm quite picky on quality, and I couldn't fault my meal. Went for deep fried brie very nice and a traditional turkey dinner. Super tender meat, fantastic choice of tasty side vegetables. And friendly staff. I will go again and recommend. Many thanks.
Lovely atmosphere, food delicious and so fresh. Greek salad was missing olives, but wasn't so important.
Lovely little pub, with fantastic menu. Really difficult to choose what to eat, everything we had was amazing
Tried booking online in the morning for a Sunday late-afternoon meal but the reservation would not go through. Called instead once they were open and after giving all my info twice we still didn't have a table reserved when we arrived. Not to worry as there were a few tables available thank goodness. Only two of us but we had a table for 4 which was needed as the tables are quite small and close together. Starters were fantastic, main meal tasted great, good portion sizes but the beef was tough, so much so that I had to request steak knives as it was impossible to cut with the standard cutlery. Price was okay at £30 per person for a 2 course meal and drinks.
Lovely refurbished so much bigger than it used to be, lovely location with open views over fields on the back garden seating area .food was delicious and textures were fab enjoyed all my 3 courses , I chose gluten free my starter was the chicken satay which was devine , and my main was the seabass , although the fish was very thin it didn't dissapoint as the flavours were fab.. . The whole experience was perfect, the service was spot on & the waitresses were 100 % attentive at all times, cheerful , & caring nature. Dogs are allowed in the restaurant as I believe I saw one in there , there is a main seating area in the main part, lots of out door seating area over looking the fields & far views out the back, and a huge conservatory off the side of the main building which is a marquee, but it's done out inside extremely lovely which seems to gives it that conservatory feel . Parking is quite big at the rear of the main building. Will definitely be making this our go to place for special meal time Outings for myself & my husband, and our son & we will & have already recommended to family & friends, & will certainly be asking them to join us in the near future. Loved every minute of our time together there , its not very often we get to go anywhere because of my health condition. It would be even more perfect if the menu was also dairy free & gluten free options, as I'm very restricted on my diet , no gluten, no dairy, sugar & additives & preservatives very much more , those though being the main ones. There is only so much you can expect from eating out so some of my restrictions have to be ignored & suffer the consequences, but if these were available more wide spread more people would dine out . Thank you to all the staff that served us that evening it was so relaxing & extremely enjoyable. .
Lovely pub with friendly and helpful staff. We booked a table for 10 and chose a range of dishes from the menu. Portion sizes were exceptionally generous, even for those with a large appetite, and everyone enjoyed their food. The Banoffee cheesecake and Bread and Butter pudding were delicious. We visited on an open Mic evening, with some good artists which added to the atmosphere.
Great pub. Good food and drink. Often walk here with the dogs as they're allowed in bar area. Lovely garden in summer too. Lots of events on throughout the year, live music etc! Highly recommended. 5*
Went to The Why Not with my Dad & Mom for my 50th birthday. We were all very impressed with the friendly service and the food was excellent. Mum had the Sea Bass and she said it was the best meal she'd had out in a long time. To me, you won't get a better thumbs up than that. Highly recommend. Sorry the pics are of partly eaten portions.
Very good we when for the Spanish tapas night..the food was good some tapas were okay and some didn't resemblance Spanish tapas. The place looks good I will come back again to tried the normal menu... overall a good night.
