**Click & collect Service at Lancaster** We ordered online for click & collect, when we collected we were served by a very impolite staff member After giving our click & collect details the staff member went to retrieve our online order. And whilst they did that we gandered at the newspapers by the till. We were rudely interrupted by the staff member who unpleasantly shouted across to us "Do you want your books?". The books did not come parceled up and when asked we were told it would cost money for that. The weather was damp and drizzley so we had no choice to pay, but surely an item bought online should be parceled ready to go? Whilst we quickly tried to find 20p she huffed making us very uncomfortable.
Whether it is the post office or the shop - the staff are the most unhelpful people I have EVER encountered in one shop. Customer service training would be of huge benefit at this location. I can see from other reviews that I am not the only person to notice this. The shop merchandising is also unclear and items - whether stationery or magazines are ludicrously difficult to find and are why I always have to interact with staff when visiting. You can rarely find what you are after on your own. I do not add negative reviews lightly - but this shop is a place I tend to avoid if possible, because every time I visit, I leave wishing I'd never entered.
Staff are always friendly and prompt. Quality service for quality products albeit on the expensive side, I.e, why does a standard ballpoint need to be 3.99? Recommended for office supplies.
Typical Smiths shop, nothing special. Most things overpriced in my opinion. Post Office upstairs, always a long line waiting, they need a special place for people dropping off internet purchases otherwise you have to wait for the people buying stamps etc
I visit the Lancaster branch regularly for my stationnary items. I think they have an excellent range of high quality office materials and cards. The cards are very contemporary with a wide range to choose from.
We love browsing round W H Smith. Good experience until we reach checkout where we are frequently served by the most miserable chap who doesn't seem as if he wants to be there. Never a smile or hello. Such a shame because all the other assistants are so cheerful and helpful.
I attended the post office so not really fair to blame WH Smith. There were 10 people in the queue and one position open. I and others were just waiting to drop off letters paid for online. The service was awful, no sense of service to those waiting
Cluttered, badly set up Walked in to an assistant having words with a customer over stamps then realising he sounded bad , tried to make it ok ! Only there because our post office has been moved upstairs here otherwise wouldn't be in there
Generally a good stationary shop. Had a quick look around but not for long. I was really only there for the post office upstairs .
Called in to get my wife one of her Christmas presents and was very disappointed with the audio book section which staff told me they were running down and couldn't order an audio book on cd that I was looking for. For a major store like WH Smiths not to cater for everyone is very diappointing for blind people.
