Fabulous campsite. Toilet and shower facilities were great, with a helpful veranda and bench for loading bikes. Did not get to use the reception/shop as we were late check ins but looked cute. Loved the site layout big field with a small number of huts around the edge. And we were able to get a Just Eat. Some authenic local noise from train track and flock of Canada Geese.
We made a late booking as many campsites were full so had fairly low expectations. However, the site was clean, flat pitches and the guys that worked there were non stop and always cheerful. The showers got a little cool as it was very busy, but the block was kept clean.nOn Pitchup it said they were full.. but we got booked by going direct. The Flint Cafe was close, good coffee and small selection for breakfast. Redwell brewery was worth the walk if you like to try local beers .. and they had a fantastic food truck. PIzzas looked good … again Google said they were closed but on checking Instagram we could see they were open All in all, great location and an excellent campsite
I agree with previous reviews that this site has potential.nIt is in a beautiful location. The staff we met were lovely and the shop was well stocked.nThe facilities available for the amount of people on site, though, are inadequate.nThere are four marked female toilets. Two of which had lids that would not stay open. The toilets were frequently grubby and lacked toilet paper towards the end of the day.nThere are four very dated showers. You have a curtain and a dry area. No bench or any kind of shelf so your things need to stay on the dirty floor. The showers were again quite grubby. The showerheads were so limed up that the spray was all over the place. We stayed for three nights and I did not get anything close to a warm shower any time I tried.nThere are four open sinks and no places that are dry to put anything down. The hand soap was regularly empty.nThere are no power points and you can use their hairdryer for £1 a go.nIn the lower field for camping - there is a drinking water point and an Elsan disposal point. Nothing else.nThere is a sweet playground for younger children.nThere are two free roaming dogs on the site. The larger of the two has a loud bark and will pop onto the field to yell at things for a while. The other is a jack russel and is not particularly interested in anyone! They are nice dogs but understandably, some people will find their presence unsettling.nWe wouldn’t return to the site because the facilities didn’t suit us.nHowever, if you like the area and you don’t mind very basic amenities - it is a nice place!
Firstly I will say location, cleanliness and facilities were great on this site it was quiet and great for family's. Slightly more pricey then some campsites as its per person not per pitch and cars are extra.nUnfortunately for me I found the admin side very disappointing and it did put a damper on my stay.nSo my friend booked 2 nights in her camper and I decided to join her for the second night. I booked online 1 night with early check-in, all seemed ok. It wasn't till I was on my way the next morning I noticed I had an email sent to me after the confirmation of my booking to say I couldn't check in early as I was only staying 1 night. The only way it was possible was to book another night! After checking it does say early check in only available for 2 nights but as they took my money and allowed me to pick early check as an option for it I assumed it was ok.nAs I was on route I tried calling panicking but couldn't get though... I left 2 voicemails and didn't get anything back. As my friend was there I asked her to pop to reception for me. Thinking I'm sure it will be ok... but no the receptionist in there was so rude and not helpful at all. Saying absolutely no way I could check in early, I wasn't welcome anywhere on site until my check in time at 2. Not allowed in her camper to wait till 2 even though they knew I had booked and paid for a pitch, I wasn't even allowed to put my car in the carpark. Barring in mind it was a pay and display I was told it had to park over the road in that one?! The lady receptionist even said if she saw i had entered my friend's camper she would be kicked off site This really stressed myself and my friend and to honest ruined my stay!nI must add the campsite and car park was empty, the pitches are a free for all no numbers so I can't see how letting me wait would of been so terrible. I felt really sad my stay started like that and I couldn't understand why the receptionist was so hostile, such a shame as the campsite was lovely!
Very reasonably priced.nBeautiful, quite and convenient location just 2 miles from Norwich city centre.nThe staff are very friendly and helpful and keep the facilities spotless.nGreat place to stay.
