Food is so well done and service are amazing. You can see they are putting allot of effort into doing this up but are still to do the rooms in the main of the building. We booked last minute though and they accommodated us well also a plus was sky TV. We will definitely stay again for a weekend though in the future. Good place for overnight accommodation on the day they had held a wake were holding the local rugby club for drinks. And people were staying over that were going to a wedding. They only do continental breakfast included in the price but it was really good selection with a fab egg boiler! Food & drinks: The food was I have to say high quality from here and all home made. The puddings excellent too really complement the chef here. Hopefully they won't be snatched away for more money but for the quality they deserve it
We stayed here as a family unit, taking 4 rooms. The rooms were clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and the food was amazing! I had the house special burger with Yorkshire Pudding in it! Delicious! Breakfast was adequate. There was a residents door so you could come and go outside of pub hours if needed. Good WiFi and a car park. The village itself has a spar and the play park on the village Green is within sight of the Pub and offers and great space for youngsters to play.
Absolutely fantastic! Immaculate throughout, very modern, delicious food and the staff are a credit to the company. We arrived and we’re greeted warmly, we enjoyed having our evening meal in the pub love the decor , the local pool team were in and we’re all very welcoming and a pleasure to be around. Slept very soundly on a perfect king size bed. The room was beautiful, sky tv and tea/coffee facilities, bathroom was … WOW ! Breakfast served 7-9 continental, the tables were all clean and everything was kept well in order. The waitress found out train times for us and was so very helpful for our onward journey. This place is a real gem
Absolutely brilliant! The waitress was so lovely and brilliant with my step son. They are dog friendly and make us feel really welcome. We had the most amazing lunch today! My step son ordered the adults steak pie, he was very happy and nearly finished the lot Even better as it’s our local
Went to the pub for Sunday dinner. We were very please with the food especially with the deal they had on. The Sunday roast was fantastic with plenty of beef which was excellently cooked. Good selection of veg I would have preferred roast parsnip to boiled which were done to perfection which for me is neither too crunchy nor boiled to death. The Yorkshire pudding was huge and welcome. Top that off with lovely service I can say we would go again. We didn't stay overnight so cannot comment on the rooms but the decor in the pub was comfy and well presented. I particularly like the montage of local images.
I enjoyed my stay here with friends, ordered food and drinks on the night within the premises and it was really well cooked. Happy with the service aswell, with very friendly and attentive staff. Will stay here again as rooms divided between us all were reasonably priced Nearby activities: Airsoft site : Hq airsoft is 5 minutes away Food & drinks: Lovely meals
We popped in for a pub lunch after going to Tophill Low Nature Reserve. The staff were incredibly friendly, and helpful with our allergens though the allergen menu itself was a little out of date as of 2 Jan 2022. They have gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options, and do a great Sunday lunch with several options. The set menus are incredibly good value and the food is very tasty and beautifully presented.
If you want to stay over a noisy bar with people screaming half the night this ones for you! I suppose it’s to be expected with a pub on a Friday however. Barman checked me in by handing me the keys and giving me directions, TV in the room not working, or at least not tuneable, and constant screaming and shouting from drunk pub goers. Continental breakfast doesn’t start until 8am on weekends but was ok with cereal and ham etc. Overall a disappointing stay so 2 stars only.
Disgusting dated ro with furniture falling apart. Whole filled in wall left rough and unpainted. Was scare to check mattress as arrived late and nowhere else to stay. Grubby towels that smelt We had to pay an extra £20 as we had our beloved pooch with us I approached the Manager on duty to ask if that was the standard of all the rooms? She replied" you have a dog, thats the room you get". Neither ourselves or my dog have every stayed in such a swualler and to be charged £85 is unlawful or it should be I will be contacting envirentaal health. This place needs closing down. I wouldnt expect a refugee from a war torn country to live in those conditions. The proprietor should be ashamed. A full refund of our stay is requested. Also lovely new rooms added to back of building we found out but if you ha ve a dog your upstairs with steptoe and son in the undesirable rooms. I have lots of photos just cannot seem to upload. Now reading the reviews the staff We're meant to be friendly. We never experienced that.
Great pub. Friendly staff and not far to walk home. Pleased to hear Sunday lunches are back after the summer.....yay
