Always a pleasure dining here. We have never been let down by either the friendly service or the lovely food. The whole experience is unpretentious, and decent, tasty and reasonably priced food from a comprehensive menu is just what you get. If you want fine dining then it's best you go elsewhere, because this place is for families and virtually everyone else who enjoys inexpensive but decent food.......and we love it!

Always have a soft spot for whistling goose, I had my first date here with my fiancé, and we're getting married this year. The food is always perfectly cooked how we ask and it has never disappointed us. Service is nice and fast and if there is ever a delay we are always told so we're not just sitting there wondering where our food is. Prices are beyond reasonable, you get more than your moneys worth and they always do deals and add to the menu.

Recent visit to this pub, had an hour and 40 min wait for food. Finally decided to ask where it was, to be told there was an hour wait for food cos they were busy and short staffed, although everyone around us who had come in after us had all been served and finished their meals. Food then arrived as if by magic but unfortunately was vile. My well done steak was completely raw in the middle, the chicken was overcooked and bone dry and the Hallumi in the burger was cold and had not seen a grill ever. When complained to the assistant manager he was quite abrupt and rude, talking extremely loud when giving us a refund. He then made the quickest exit ever. Needless to say we will never go back!!!!

We have used this pub for years and decided to come for afternoon lunch.. Food took over an hour & a half to arrive and when it did it was cold.. when we complained we was told this was okay and wasn't cold at all yet I could stick my finger in the food and was Luke warm.. we were them approached by the supervisor and was told the timing was acceptable and the food wasn't cold basically saying we were lying.. when we mentioned it wasn't acceptable she then leaned over the table into our faces and Said we were being unreasonable and that we should leave.. we eventually go out money back but that wasn't the point, we would have been happy if they would of given fresh food to us but apparently they couldn't do that.. before we left we got chatting to a guy who delivered our food, even he Said it weren't just us complaining that day! Will not return!

Great pub and friendly staff. Usually busy at peak times but it is a large pub so plenty of room. Menus vary from traditional pub meals to the grilled challenges. Plenty of parking but traffic is bad around that area at rush hour, good place to stop while it dies down. It's close to other amenities like b&M and also a new lidl store is on opposite corner so ideal for a rest after a bit of shopping
