The shop was empty in some areas and some lights were also turned off in some areas. Not what I expected for a "high end" retailer. The shop front looks good but you feel very unwelcome once inside. Maybe due to it being post Christmas? My previous experience here has been much different and I hope they don't end up closing down like many larger shops in Maidstone.
Completely disgraceful company, my mother ordered sliders for me, and all that arrived inside my parcel was a parcel addressed to another person, and inside that parcel was spot cream. They then refused to refund my mother, we even provided a video and pictures of us opening the parcel as the weight was completely off to what it should have been. I'm thankful the order was only £55, as costumer services were absolutely useless, and appear to not be able to understand English, even with the clear evidence provided.
Asian staff was more interested chatting to her boyfriend than serving staff when asked for a cashier point instead of showing us where we could pay, finally took us to the till bit didn't remove the security tag. Had to wait ages to get it removed. Not shopping there again! Staff are so rude and lazy.
Not sure about this place anymore, the love seems to have left the building, most lights off with staff looking bored and deflated very little customers in whenever I go in these days. Maybe if they discounted from the start more people would buy, with online shopping quicker and easier than walking around a darkened store it's more inviting staying home. Sorry but I run a small business and know full well to try and shop local but house of Fraser has lost touch with it's client base time to move on and scale down, we no longer need a store that's just holding on till the lease expires .
I was there last week, shop was very dark quessing they saving on electricity , thought they were closed . Feels very strange, i could see a colours of the clothes. Went to the fitting room and was also dark, has to leave door open to see myself there. I dont think i will ever come back, as this wasnt good experience, shopping in a dark shop, had to also look for a staff to help me with size etc, lady on the till wasnt too nice to be honest. And they dont give refunds , only voucher or exchange so better shop online.
I had to return a shirt after not trying it on when buying it and because I'm a fat git didn't realise it was slim fit I did manage to exchange it for a shirt that was a decent fit despite their no refund policy at least I fund something I liked so happy days
Large department store spread across two floors. There is a café here and clothing from lots of different brands. A good range. The toilets were 'out of order' however and half the lights in the store were off. Very odd.
Appalling online delivery service. 7 days in and no notification that my purchase has even being prepared for shipping. Online team suggests issues at the warehouse. You should have stated this on the website before I purchased. Never again.
Went in today with my 15 year old daughter, she brought herself a Ted Baker Handbag, and 2 Ted Baker Pencil cases in the sale, both originally £25 down to £13. At the checkout upon putting one through the till it came up at £18, the sales assistant went to check, when she came back she said no its £18 so she couldn't do anything, I pointed out because it was priced at that then that's the price we should be paying, so she called the manager on their radio, she came over and said because it was the only one labelled at £13 she couldn't do it and it would be £18! So I said don't worry then, we just got the bag and one pencil case along with a Tommy Jumper. As we walked away we went to check and what did we find?? Another pencil case labelled £13!!!! So.....I took it to the manager to show her and she said OK I'll honour it to which we thanked her, she have us her name and told us to go back to the sales assistant and to tell her she will honour it great! Off we went. The lovely sales assistant didn't believe us and had to radio through to the manager, who confirmed what we'd said, no apology or anything!!!!!! I remember House of Fraser being a classy establishment with staff that couldn't do enough to help, not anymore, she was rude and would rather have a conversation with her colleague whilst serving us. Customer service was absolutely shocking!! Bring back the old days when you had helpful staff, a well lit shop and lots of customer's, no wonder it was rather empty today! Amazes me how people enter in to retail work when they clearly don't have the skills for it.
Definitely the best shop in Maidstone and very calming to be in. Staff are lovely and they offer great brands and good customer service.
