Here from Australia, in the area visiting friends and family, this was my intro to the Wetherspoons franchise. Wow, it's actually quite excellent. Plenty of variety in both food and drinks and the price! You literally can't go wrong here, so much so that we went multiple times! The staff are super friendly and helpful also. Be aware, it gets busy at all times of the day, and that's a good review in itself!
Great experience and a good vibe. Really well priced food and drink. Great service
Nice big clean pub lots of tables and nice atmosphere plus beer
Decent, busy Spoons. Always seems to be a queue for the coffee machine though. Great staff, we went at Halloween time and everyone made an effort with fancy dress. Quick service always when using the Wetherspoon app! Will return.
Wetherspoons in Consett has always been a regular place for me to go, however I have now had x2 run ins with management and been treat the worst I've been treat by any management in over 30 years of going to pubs all over the world. The most recent was on the afternoon of 01 Nov 22 when a very simple question about what was in the cookie dough resulted in a horrific experience as I was essentially told by a supervisor they can't tell me and if it's not on the menu they also don't know. In light of the current allergy obsessed world I found this to be astonishing. Thankfully another bar lady offered to help and showed me the interactive screen at the side of the bar which gave me the information I needed. It had something in I couldn't have and she kindly offered to replace the item for me. I decided to take this back up with the incredibly rude supervisor who essentially told me she couldn't help, imagine if I had a peanut allergy or something!! I asked why she couldn't have directed me to this information, yet a bar lady could and why she told me she couldn't help me if it wasn't covered on the menu, when clearly she could. Her attitude to this questioning was simply disgusting, she essentially said I was lying and that she didn't say what she had just said. Then she told me she would no longer talk to me about the subject because she was right and I was wrong. If video footage exists I'd be more than happy to review this with her as I know what was said. What happened to the "customer is always right" being the cornerstone of customer service. I worked as a supervisor in customer service myself, I know this doesn't mean the customer is literally always right, however by taking this approach it allows for far better communication and some middle ground to be established, usually resulting in much better experience for all. It never means 'shut up paying customer you're wrong I'm right and that's it', when it was such a simple question and a very easy answer could have been given straight away. In all my years I can't remember ever coming across a manager in a customer focused job treating people in this disgusting, rude and downright arrogant manner. I'm 46 and have never written a review like this ever before, however I can't believe just how badly your management treat customers, how can this be allowed it's truly shocked me and tarnished my opinion of Wetherspoons.
Visiting friends and visited the company row. Fantastic weathies unlike ours in whitley bay. Ours has terrible management and one of them has barred over 500 people for trivial things. Not a very welcoming atmosphere whereas I found the company row warm welcoming and lively. Really comfortable atmosphere. Full marks Company Row. You should maybe offer training to to fire station as this is how it's done.
Although my husband's meal was ok I had 5 bean chili and was barely warm and looked like it had been heated up and left a while before being served to me my granddaughter had spaghetti Bolognese child meal and that was also cold and the spaghetti was hard in places I didn't complain but won't be going back again
delicious food and very nice atmosphere. The perfect place for a family dinner, a drink with friends or a loved one.
I came in today for a meal with my partner and he had a epileptic fit straight after our food came to our table and the 2 staff members that help us were amazing they did everything to make sure he was OK and kept everything calm they even boxed our food so we could take it with us honestly I'm so grateful they were brilliant thanks so much for being understanding and I'll definitely be back
Decent and enjoyable Wetherspoons. Bit more like a drinking shed than a pub, as it's just a large hall space with a big bar. Don't let that put you off though, it's clean, friendly and welcoming. Nice staff, food looked good and it was great value. A good visit!
