Absolutely love Weston-Super-Mare. Its a traditional sea front with lots to see and do. I recommend walking to the marine lake for some watery fun, maybe some crabbing. 

Plenty of places for food and drinks, many with fantastic views of the bay. Mini golf, donkey rides, ferris wheel, arcades. 

Weston has undergone many improvements over the last 20 years although, as with any town there are still buildings that need improvements to their appearance and  plenty of empty buildings too, but we all know these things take time to accomplish. 

I highly recommend searching online for the local tide times and timing your visit to catch both high and low tides. A wonderful sandy beach at low tide and incredible views of the bay at high tide and if visiting coincides with a super high tide then you get to see the beach disappear entirely, super high tides are usually during the spring and autumn so make sure to pack a decent coat and a brolly. 

The wind and rain, both common in the UK, usually comes off the sea from the west and southwest.

Good sized car park located at the train station. Great for picking up and dropping off.
