It is one of the must see for every London visit because: it is just a magnificent building, it has rich history and you’re allowed to take photos inside unlike the Buckingham palace for example. Be sure to take your time and pay attention to the multimedia guide. British monarchy can get humorous at times.
An absolutely fantastic visit to Westminster Abbey! Seeing this iconic landmark in person, after admiring it on screen for so long, was an unforgettable experience. The architecture is breathtaking, and the rich history is palpable in every corner. The audio guide available in different languages enhances the visit with fascinating insights and knowledge. The route for visitors is well planned and easy to navigate. A must-visit for anyone in London!
Westminster Abbey is a must-visit for tourists in London who are interested in history, architecture, or even to experience one of London's most iconic landmarks. The entrance ticket is one of the most expensive for a cathedral that I have been to. £29 per adult and £13 per child. However this was almost like a living museum of British history which is a treasure trove of rich heritage, culture & history. The Gothic architecture with such intricate details was really breathtaking. It is recommended to buy additional ticket to the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Galleries which offered a magnificent view from above and displayed a rich collection of artifacts. Due to huge number of tourists everyday, it is best to purchase tickets in advanced to avoid being refused at the entrance if the daily tickets are sold out.
Quite simply one of the most incredible buildings on Earth. You could spend hours here and not see everything. Tips: Purchase tickets in advance, and book the first time slot! We were some of the first people inside, and it's incredible to view it without fighting for space as you would be later in the day. Also, book the optional behind the scenes tour for the slight extra charge. It's well worth it!
Beautiful place to visit with family. There’s an audio tour for adults and one for kids. For King Henry VIII fans there’s some interesting trivia info even though he’s not buried here. It’s a little tomb like because of how many people are buried inside but it’s beautiful. I recommend taking the extra tour upstairs for 5 pounds more. Pictures are not allowed but the artifacts are spectacular and it’s more like a museum than the mausoleum below.
This is truly one of the greatest experiences of visiting London. The centuries-old architecture of the Abbey is just unbelievable, and the intricate carvings of the tombs and memorials are just jaw-dropping. It may have been packed in there when we went, but it was still awe-inspiring to slowly file through and take in all the ornate scenery. It's a true centerpiece of British history, not just with the monarchs' tombs, but with the poets corner and the tombstones of other great Britons such as Stephen Hawking and Charles Darwin.
Simply breathtaking….. As a Catholic, I have never visited an Anglican church. This place was unbelievable!! So ornate. So much history. Definitely buy your tickets early as it sells out and, spring for the extra ticket to view the Galleries. Well worth it.Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedYes
Westminster Abbey is a stunning architectural marvel and a must-visit for anyone interested in British history. The grandeur of the abbey, combined with its rich historical significance, makes for a truly awe-inspiring experience. It's conveniently located near other notable attractions, including the statues of Winston Churchill, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and other prominent leaders, which are easily accessible by a short walk. The entire area offers a profound glimpse into the UK's heritage, with both the abbey and nearby monuments providing a memorable and enriching visit.
First visit 07/19/24 what an incredibly moving place. You could FEEL the history in that building. I wish they gave guided tours instead of those terrible headphone things. Some of my ancestors are buried there..it was probably one of my favorite places I visited in London. The architecture is absolutely breathtaking.Visited onWeekdayWait time30–60 minReservation recommendedYes
Amazing historic place with great architecture. I loved the history with great people like Newton, Darwin, Faraday and Stephen Hawking's remains buried there. We also attended a service there. The staff is very nice at answering questions. Would highly recommend taking the audio tour.
