West Sussex county council should be ashamed of themselves from the poor dangerous road's, flooding, closed roads, new builds going up everywhere schools and hospitals suffering. It's time to get this government out of power and the cowboys in Chichester.
Fantastic co-operation with National Highways to shut the A23 and A264 on the same evening, without adequate warning of the latters closure, and absolutely zero warning to drivers on M23 of the only other main alternative route I could use that evening. Class act
Absolutely appalling. My son is 11 and due to start secondary school in September. It is important to us that he attends a faith school. He has Autism and academically he is very bright however he has the behaviour of an 8 or 9 year old. Due to being academically bright he doesn't qualify for an EHCP so we are unable to receive any help with transport. He has been allocated a secondary school 15 miles away from home. Due to the cost of living crisis we can only afford to run one car which is needed for work. We couldn't afford the cost of petrol to drive 300 miles a week to and from school! So much for WSCC reducing environmental pollution! If he got a bus he would have to leave home at 5.45am, the journey would take approx 2 hours and there would be more than 37 stops en route. He cannot be trusted to get a train as he wouldn't cope with having to change trains at Barnham and walk for 20 minutes to school the other end. WSCC really couldn't care less about my son's safety at all. It's absolutely disgusting. Their lack of understanding of medical conditions is shocking. As far as they're concerned he's clever so he must have the common sense to be able to get to school safely. I appealed their decision regarding the school placement and requested a faith school closer to home. We had supporting evidence from our GP and the Child Development Centre that our son won't be able to travel safely but the appeals panel rejected it. The scary thing is that WSCC confirmed that they have no knowledge whether any of the people on the appeal panel have any qualifications to overrule our GP or the Specialists so who are they to decide what is best for our son! They said he could go to our local catchment school but why should his disability prevent him from going to a faith school? Our only options seem to be to take in a lodger for extra income to be able to afford an additional car or move house to be closer to his new school. He doesn't want either of these and they would both be detrimental to his Autism. We don't want a stranger living with us so it seems we will be forced into moving house.
WSCC...shambolic service all round!!! Never returned my calls/emails from a year ago and the illegally parked vehicle that I tried to report, that took WSCC over 4 months to remove, has returned. Worst council that I have ever had the misfortune to deal with!
Ann Richards of mash wrote false damaging information about me , their mash social workers were found to be junk status by ofsted failing children on a Daily basis, yet these clowns continue to ruin lives with their lies. I have video evidence they have fictionalised the material , yet they do nothing to remiss it, if a law firm is taking legal action against them or has experience doing this, please contact me.
From an ex-ocular cancer patient! I recently shared my experience of adult social care with Councillor Jupp to do with an incident which took place some 3 to 4 years ago. She was very nice about things and assured me that things had improved greatly since then. However I can only give one star rating as the whole episode should never have taken place at all if people at the time had done their job properly. My message to anybody who gets into a situation not of their choosing is to walk away and then, complain like hell to the authority responsible! For those who are interested, I was forced to wait 36 hours for a mental health assessment in a hospital having not been able to sleep for almost 48 hours and left standing in the same summer clothes that I went into the PRH Haywards Heath hospital with and without me not having been able to have a bath or shower, and, if that was not bad enough, having to go through a 1 hour or so gruelling mental health assessment starting at approximately one in the morning when most normal people would have been tucked up in bed by the end of it, and I was totally bullied by the lead psychiatrist a doctor Hadi! Yes, and me being a former ocular cancer patient who has been in remission now for over 10 years! Thank you Barts hospital, London!l Oh, yes! and I turned 70 years of age back in July of this year! Update folks! I happen to have a telephone conversation today with Greg Slay, very important person at WSCC who has reminded me that I did indeed receive an apology from WSCC at the time! He's right of course, I can't dispute that. However, I had to remind him that the apology given to me at the time was only given to me after I had to chase half way across West Sussex to obtain it! It was not given automatically as it should have been at the time. The apology itself was given by a very minor person as far as WSCC were concerned. Tut tut WSCC ! Mr. Greg Slay has informed me that he has not ever heard of another situation like mine in all his long and illustrious career with WSCC and it would have been nice to have heard it a bit louder from people like him who are senior people and who should not have to have their knuckles rapped by people like me! I just hope that he is right about my experience being unique. I don't think that WSCC would want the general public of West Sussex to find out in any case as a lot of the work that he does on our behalf goes on behind closed doors even if if the meetings of people like Mr. Slay are minuted!
When you can get through to the line to report travellers the staff are wonderful but the procedure of reporting like everything now is a form on line that never gets up dated and little is done for the residents caught in the horror of travellers encamped on the green at the back of the garden breaking countless laws truanting children, dog trading noise abatement, etc we have to wait while they negotiate a date which means wait for then to to move on.
Trying to report a potentially dangerous pothole on a main road at a weekend is virtually impossible - first log in and request a password.... or telephone the police. The police!! Sure they would be delighted. The overall website is a joke with no actual staff contact details and only minor complaints of any concern.
Terrible at there job only car about money when they don't car about anything they goes around them
Truely useless, the state of the roads is terrible and repairs are not much better, must be one of the worst run County Councils in the UK.
