Our rivers are in an ecological mess, they have been for some time but since privatisation nothing much has changed. We now have not one of our rivers rated as good by New Scintist, when you include chemical polution - not one in England, Wales or NI! However, the average wage for bosses at the water and sewage companies in England in 2022 was nearly £1.7m and their standard salary rise was 27%. For what? Failure. I don't object to them puffing out their chests and glorying in telling the neighbors they are a CEO but I do object to any salary rise when the organisation is failing. Wait until you hit the real target of clean rivers - then talk salary.
I had to deal with them after house moving. People who moved in to my old place didn't change to their name. Thames kept sending me bills to my new address . Emailed quite a few but sent me debt collection letter. Had to call few times for the issue. Got proof from estate agent. Thames customer service agents are really polite and helpful. They understood and closed the case. Told they will chase the new occupies and no more issue with me. It was during the covid stressful period. Glad it was solved.
Not only was I sent a bill four times too high for a period four times longer than my tenancy, but when I contacted Thames water to correct this I had to deal with an INSANE amount of stupid hurdles. Awful, awful company which contributes so little above and beyond the absolute bare minimum and is such a pain to have anything to do with.
Excellence in excrement! Thames Water prioritise corporate greed over thriving rivers. As a keen open water swimmer I am left angry and dismayed, every time it rains they delight in dumping large quantities of raw sewage in our river making it unsafe to swim for most of the winter months. At least I can choose not to enter the water, all the wildlife have no such choice. Shame on you Thames Water!
Each month I am unable to set up Direct Debit, the website throw an error message "Sorry, we are unable to complete your request." When calling them , after hours of explaining they find it hard to understand, they set up the direct debit for me, yet in fact they don't. Have to pay them monthly manually which is frustrating as we live in 21 century.
My elderly mother called the emergency line as sewage was backing up through her pipes, after a swift arrival a tanker arrived to sort the blockage which was well received. However, I would highly recommend you send your colleagues on customer service courses, they were very rude to my mother who attempted to start conversation; she received only blunt responses & was even ignored on several occasions which upset her dearly.
absolutely incompetent. simple detail changes are apparently too difficult, they cant read meters and hide behind excuses. latters sent late, or no contact, or rude staff on the phone. contest every bill, do not set up a direct debit!
I have tried two times today to speak to your team and have been cut off both times. once this morning I eventually spoke to somebody. The lady was transferring me to another team but got cut off. that was 28 minutes of wasted time. I tried again this afternoon, did not speak to anyone, and got cut off. That was another 15 minutes of wasted time. Please Thames Water you need to improve to customer service!!!!
Been charged incorrectly for nearly 2 years now. Have tried to get this sorted for those 2 years and of course am still paying £100s for water I don’t use. Customer service is absolutely appalling and no one seems to know what they’re doing while the only manager seems to always conveniently be ‘in a meeting’. 1 star is too many for the scammers that seem to run this company. Have phoned twice today and been hung up on both times.
Poor customer service, the telephone line was very poor with a lot of background noise. The explanation given was 'this is a call centre with other people talking' which I found quite rude. The automated call handling doesn't work too well as it doesn't always recognise your voice. Second time of calling they seem to have no record of previous conversations. Given conflicting information.
