Wow, this is shocking just goes to show you that with more than one person leaving a review on how bad west lothian council service is, then you know how bad they are. I agree 100% with all these negative reviews. They are happy to take your money for the council tax and if your late with it, they come down hard on you by taking it further but when they are late emptying bins, it's all OK. They are a joke! Something needs to be done about the level of service. Everyone who's had a bad experience should take it higher up.
After reading all other reviews I do agree with the Council Tax as soon as your late they send that company Adam M Adamson to your door and let me tell you that company has the worst bullying tactics actually is almost pushing me to a mental break. Other than that I've always for the advisors at west Lothian council helpful obviously within saying that too I've actually only needed 1 repair too. The council tax lost them a star in my review. But yeah there is a wait trying to get through but when you do I've found when I've had to call I have got the help I needed. I obviously don't agree with the place they hand council tax bills over to but that's a different company altogether.
My daughter returned from holiday on Tuesday 23.08.22, and as she lives in a top floor flat, the roof has been leaking and her ceiling has collapsed, she called the council and they put a light polythene sheet on, three days later water is pouring in like a waterfall. Her blinds ,flooring and table are ruined, she can't leave her flat as she has to move buckets about to catch the water. Absolutely disgusting.10 days later council still not done anything the whole ceiling has collapsed on one side, she has made over 10 calls only to be told that they are waiting on a sub contractor for scaffolding. Again disgraceful. On 06.09.22 we has now be told someone will be out on 14.09.22,
Sick to the back teeth with their bin collection "issues"! No alternative collection dates during strike days and since it's been over we've had "service issues" as the excuse. Today it's "no access"!! Pathetic! So what if I have "council tax payment issues" while this fiasco is continuing???!!! They were rubbish before and they're even worse now! Whoever is actually in charge get your act in order and sort this out! Our late Queen knew what public service was. You lot certainly do not!!
My shower switch broke just before I left for work on Tues 15th Nov at 5pm . . . I reported the fault online at 5.30 . . . At 9am the next day a girl called to arrange a repair and two electricians arrived at 3pm and fixed the switch in 15 minutes. Anybody who leaves less than 5 star review for west Lothian council obviously doesn't have any experience of other local councils in Scotland!!! Well done wlc!!! Peace of mind and a clean bum all in less than 24hrs!!!
Phoning them and getting through is difficult when and if you do you may wish that you hadn't.If you want something done do it yourself this lot aren't interested.This is what we pay council tax for?.They raise their rent and rates every year for what?. If this was a business and not a taxpayer funded glee club it would have shut years ago.
Bathgate Council, I have tried to get some help for food, gas and electricity, I am turned away, a few times! I've spoken with someone who has advised me that the government has actually gave the council more more to help the community. I'm being turned down for silly reasons then made to sit without food and gas with a child!! Disgusted with the so called help out there. This is terrible. Wonder how they would feel not being able to feed their own children. I'm going to seek help regarding this and ill be taking this all the way.
Came out our house to head to Farm and the road cleaner was cleaning Charlesfield Lane. Struggling to get past Because the Kirkton Service Centres trees overgrown. He stopped to allow the kids to cycle past but also got out and was amazing with the kids. Chatted to them and Showed them where to stand to watch the sweeper. They loved it just a nice gentleman. So many people give the workers a hard time it’s great to see this guy happy nice and doing a good job.
Try book bulky uplift. Page won't load. Finally managed to get form online from asking loads of questions on page. Went through all the rigmarole and wouldnt accept card no! Absolute bloody joke. No wonder people dump their household waste. Im beginning to understand why.
Absolutely disgraceful, trying to get through to these people is like trying to contact the dead. No help whatsoever, refuse to help people in need but will happily take your council tax. Absolute joke.
