Forget the escape room and go straight to the tower museum! It is very interesting and in a small place you can cover almost 800 years of history. After the visit we have the possibility to chat with the guardian about the tower and its use during the WWII!! It was very interesting!
Canterbury is one of the most iconic cities in the UK. The architectural value of the proudly standing towers and castles in the city is invaluable. In addition it provides the lovely lively Christmas vibe every December

Context: Dropped in when passing on a 2-day trip to the city in Aug-2021 and didn't read any up front information. Notes: Small museum above one of the old gates in and out of Canterbury. Partly free to access and partly accessed with a small fee 4 GBP which allows visitors onto the roof and down to the lower level. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic curator/guide/host working there when we attended. Conclusion: Interesting use of 30 minutes.
An interesting insight into the history of the medieval gateway, said to be the finest in Europe. Great views over the historical city of Canterbury.

Excellent historic museum and viewpoint.Very informative and interesting displays.Great value for money Admission Fee at £4 or £3 for concessions;however due to renovation;only half price thus either £2 or £1.50 which is a bargain;considering you have access to museum and arguably the best views over Canterbury.The staff I spoke to were very friendly,helpful and professional.Very welcoming and represent the Museum very well.Be aware that entrance is from the pub next door at the ground floor;however this is well signposted.Loved being here.Very Highly Recommended.
Great little place, if you can find the entrance situated between a restaurant and another shop. Great history inside with its friendly staff, great views of Cantabury from the roof. With the added bonus of traffic going right underneath you what more do you want.
compact and informative space, is there a small local history book about the characters who were invited to stay a while i wonder? the building has adapted itself well over the years and remains relevant to Canterbury's long history. plus we still lock people up! seriously though, a nice compact vertical place of history- hard to imagine anyone jumping from here, i read about 2 chaps who did, desperate! as it's opposite to some lovely gardens you shpuld give it a go, good knees required for scaling those stairs
a little museum but well worth the visit, a good view of the city from the top of the tower and you get a glimpse of what life might have been like in the cells back in the day!
