Waterstones in Orchard Square is everything you want in a modern bookshop. The shop is light and airy with a relaxed vibe and chairs dotted round where you can sit and peruse your purchases. Staff are always on hand and are helpful but not pushy. There is a coffee shop upstairs which adds to the atmosphere. My favourite bookshop in Sheffield.

Very nicely let me to quickly pop in and buy a book even though they had technically closed for an event.

In a world where pretty much everything has been changed by the internet, including books, Waterstones is a haven of good reads and good customer service. The staff are friendly, they have a great cafe and facilities (inc baby change) and they have a large section of classic children's stories, which, let's face it, are always best in physical format. They even have a small play area for kids with a slide and colouring sheets and pencils. What more do you need?

A large Waterstones... exactly as you would expect. Nothing wrong but equally nothing stand out. A respectable 4 stars
