We booked this place for a birthday party. The venue location was nice, with good decor outside giving the pub a quaint characteristic feel. Though we didn't use it, the outside amenities were ample, with sheltered and heated tables available. We booked the downstairs room which was well turned out, great space for a dance floor and space to put the buffet and seating for about 60-70 people. Also, I have to say, the staff were great. They were very friendly and accommodating and helped with any small needs on the night. The drink was well priced and the food was to a very high standard, there was no buffet food left at the end of the night which is always great to see! There is very limited parking considering the capacity which caused some confusion among guests. However, there is lots of disabled space available. All in all it was a great experience. This is a place I highly recommend for medium/large bookings
We spent a lovely night here before driving our daughter to Heathrow. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic..probably one of the best meals we have had at a restaurant. We loved the family room, with its view of the canal. The room was clean, comfortable. Very nice little touches like actual milk in glass bottles . Would highly recommend.
Came here for a dinner and the food was really really nice. The sizzling hot plates are very tasty, I got the grilled salmon one. The chicken tikka one also was a really big portion. Starters are also really nice. A bit pricey however I feel the price is worth it, good portion size also. I would come back to try their Sunday menu. Overall a really nice meal
Had an amazing evening celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Christine the manager went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Amazing food and location. Staff are very friendly and couldn't do enough. Highly recommend for a special celebration or for just enjoying a quiet meal/drink. Great place to visit all year round Parking: Plenty of parking
My husband and his friends booked a dinner reservation. Everything started off really well, until it was time to serve their mains. My husband and 1 of his friends were having Salmon and the rest were having steaks and 1 vegetarian dish. The beef came out first, then low and behold the salmon never arrived!!! It might have made a difference if the Manager or Supervisor or someone could have gone over and gave a credible explanation as to why the salmon was not served, with a suggestion or recommendation of a replacement dish. But of course, none of that happened!!! Deserts where then served my husband and his friend still waiting on his mains, with extras placed on the table. Don't know if it was a feeble attempt to not get a bad review. Overall, for an establishment to be in this business for this long, my husband and his friends deserved at least good service and their dinner, as this dinner was booked way in advance. This was a complete waste of his time, his friends time and it completely ruined his evening. My advice: I would not recommend this place to any of my family, friends or my worst enemy and you shouldn't either.
I just came back from an excellent stay at the Watersedge. The place is unique, with a lovely outdoor space which overlooks the canal. I stayed in a standard double, which had a separate entrance and ever amenity neccessary to have a comfortable stay. I enjoyed the continental breakfast which was provided in the room. Food is excellent as well, my wife said her mac and cheese was the best she had ever tasted. Thanks aswell to the staff here, the hospitality is so welcoming. I'll definitely return in the future. Thanks again.
I stayed and ate evening meal here. I was impressed with the service, the room, and the general location. I was greeted at reception the bar with a friendly smile, guided all the way to my room, which overlooked the canal, the room was compact but met my requirements completely, the bed was comfy, the pillows were a little firm for my liking but I coped. The food was superb, both the prawns starter and lamb main were hot and delicious. I was here because of work but if I needed to stay local to here again, I would, without hesitation, choose Watersedge. Parking: Large parking area
We held our wedding dinner at The Wateredge. Christine, Natalie and her team were excellent hosts and very professional. The food has excited our expectations and all our guests were really pleased. We highly recommend this place if you are thinking for a wedding venue at reasonable prices, high quality, friendly, stress-free and romantic scenery!
Christine and her team at The Watersedge were absolutely amazing today. I arranged a late lunch party for my elderly parents' 50th wedding anniversary, with 14 of us. It's fully accessible by wheelchair, no tricky stairs to try to navigate. The food was exceptional - a unique menu, beautifully presented, full of flavour and great quality. Christine even decorated the table area for us! It's in a great setting right next to the canal too, with narrowboats floating slowly by. The best thing of all was the staff - we were so well looked after and they made my Mum and Dad so happy - mission accomplished! I've also stayed overnight before and that was really clean and comfy. If you're thinking of booking anywhere else, don't bother. Great value and it's been a lovely day making precious memories. Thanks Christine!
Lovely food, service was attentive, not rushed. Had seating outside as well as inside. Right on the river. Looked beautiful in the moonlight with moon shining under humped bridge and lots of ice shimmering in the foreground. Normal restaurant prices. Parking.Food: 5/5
