Delightful little cafe with consistently great coffee. Dinner portions on the smaller side for me. Breakfast reasonably priced and service always good. If it’s cold there are heaters and blankets in the inside area. The outside area is only comfortable in the summer months but it’s wonderful when available - the surrounding park makes it feel far less urban that it is.
Charming cafe/restaurant with friendly staff and a nice vibe. We visited today for some coffee and cake. The pastries tasted a bit stale but the lemon drizzle cake wasn’t half bad. Overall a great spot to visit - it really was quite lovely to sit outdoors in the terrace area and enjoy the sounds of the park. My only suggestion would be that staff need to be more aware of customers waiting to be served in the outdoor seating area. We waited for quite a while and in the end had to go ask someone to come and take our order. Otherwise no other issues.
Pretty pub garden with a nice atmosphere for catching up - it’s covered and has some heaters, although a couple don’t work. The gentleman who served us kindly offered us blankets instead. The food was ok - I had the mussels, which came with a generous serve of fries. My friends had a chicken liver salad and the salmon gravlax, as they had run out of the salmon main. We finished off with the chocolate fondant, which was incredibly rich and very very sweet. Value was variable - I thought my mussels £13 and the dessert £9.50 were great value, but the salads at £14 and £16 - or £23 as it ended up being probably less so. Service was very friendly and polite and they all made us feel welcome. At the end of the meal they charged us for the salmon main instead of the salmon salad a £7 difference, which I didn’t notice at the time. My email to rectify has gone unanswered, so I’d just suggest double-checking the bill at the table, as I should have done!
Fantastic prices, Fantastic food, beautiful outdoor seating with heat. My wife said they were the best Beans she's ever had. Only negative was the rude people who sat next to us, coughing and blowing their noses. Too many people around London don't seem to realize that there is a global pandemic. So if you go to Turks Head, go early to avoid the covid crowd.
Not the typical pub food. This one has a better quality, more exquisite menu. The entrecôte was really good, especially the side, the potatoes gratin, but what I really loved were the desserts. They were delicious, especially the apple pastry one with pistachio. I loved it
Not ce, quiet and chilled. I went for breakfast, nice layout, still got the original essence of the old time boozer but has a French bistro/hipster twist to it. Nice outdoor area with fresh coffee and pastries.
OK... Really long wait time for food, over an hour. Food was tasty though. Also no draught beer just bottles for £5 each and then service charge on top so about £5.50 for a bottle of Heineken. Service isn't up to scratch really for the prices. Nice venue though.
Lovely little garden bistro. The building is a former pub, but it isn't really a pub anymore. The food was excellent, particularly the salmon. Service was attentive maybe too attentive. A great local place that is also investing in the neighborhood.
A most wonderful experience! Last night's service was delightfully attentive without being overpowering; we enjoyed a relaxing summer's evening in the covered garden, with great wine and a chilled atmosphere. The food - we chose fish mains - was delicious and superbly presented, the brownie was so chocolately even the daughter of a well known chocolate empire was unable to finish it! One of my absolute favourite places in London; thank you to all behind the scenes too - this kind of professionalism doesn't happen without an awful lot of work, please know that your diners appreciate it!
Fantastic French food in the heart of Wapping! Give the entrecôte and gratin dauphinois a try. It’s to die for! The XXL brownie to finish off our meal was also a strong choice. I didn’t really understand the previous reviews criticising the service as we were served really quickly and the waitress was very attentive. The classic French tunes’ playlist was also a nice touch and brought back some nice memories Overall we had a great time at The Turk’s Head and being local we will most likely return for drinks or food again! Santé!
