The tickets for the day were not cheap at all, but we had a brilliant day out. As a family of 4, we all had a great day. We opted to do the Dungeons with both children 11 & 8 and it was creepy but really worth doing if you don't scare easily.nIt's been a few years since we visited, and it's definitely improved since we last had a day here. The jousting show was incredible, as was the Falconry show. Both were amazing and well worth seeing.nThe only disappointment of the day was that the trebuchet wasn't working, which we were sad to miss.nThe food & drink offerings are what you'd expect from a day out, not cheap but a good variety of choices.nThe gift shop was surprisingly 'good' value for a tourist attraction and I didn't wince as much as I'd have expected to when presented with a bow and arrow to purchase, which is good quality too.nThe extra activities such as the archery were great fun & the kids weren't rushed at all. The staff throughout the castle were so friendly & helpful.nThere could do with being more toilets, we stood for a good 15-20 mins waiting for the toilet which feels excessive, even at peak times.nAll together, it's a brilliant day out & we will definitely be back again!
The castle is impressive and they have tried to make part of it accessible but there isn't enough for a full day out for wheelchair users. Falconry show is amazing as far as you can see.could do with seating areas more regimented and a disabled area. It didn't help that most of the teachers were too busy eating and chatting to watch their charges from Laurel Park School and the children were very naughty and unruly
Lovely place great shows and castle but at £146 for two adults and two kids a bit pricey then if you want to visit the dungeon it's an extra £10 each to have a go on archery £7 each so over £200 before you even think of food 4 hot drinks just shy of £20 so a quite expensive daynnLoved the history of the place and the architecture the grounds are stunning with roaming peacocks birds of pray show was goodnNice to see but would go again at that price
Warwick Castle's main entrance is a grand and imposing structure that exudes the castle's rich medieval history. As you approach, you're greeted by tall, fortified stone walls that stretch upwards, giving a sense of the castle's strength and defensive power. The entrance is flanked by two massive, round towers, each crowned with battlements, which provide a formidable first impression. The main gate, typically a heavy wooden door reinforced with iron, is framed by a large stone archway, often adorned with intricate carvings or the castle's coat of arms. Above the archway, there's often a portcullis—a heavy, spiked grille that could be lowered to protect the castle from invaders. Surrounding the entrance, there might be a moat or drawbridge, enhancing the medieval atmosphere and adding to the sense of crossing into a different time period as you step inside.
It's always a pleasure visiting this historic place. The atmosphere is great, and there are always new things to learn about. My only criticism is the distance of the car park. It is a 15 min walk away from the entrance, and the shuttle buses were lacking. Overall, it was a great place for the family.
