Very happy with the practice. Of course there are occasional waits to see the Doctors but I’ve managed to get an appointment for myself and child every time I have needed to. The staff are always really friendly and helpful. Only downside is not being able to book an appointment in advance and emergency ones go very fast on the day
Something urgently and I mean urgently needs to be looked at regarding this practice....before somebody dies, and when I say dies I mean this sincerely. You cannot get to see a doctor for love nor money, that's if you are even lucky enough to get through to the doctor's. My son actually contacted our local mp because we were so worried that on the number of occasions we have tried to get to actually see a doctor it has been nigh on impossible......COVID should not be an excuse not to be able to see your GP, in fact I don't even know who my GP is now as Dr Wilson retired....this I heard through the grapevine and I was not informed of this in either writing or an email and I have been with Dr Wilson for nearly 30 years!!!!...are there even my doctor's on site???????. Please please get this doctor's surgery back to normal, starting with getting rid of the answer machine that rattles on and on and by the time it finishes you forget what you've phoned up for in the first place......then you have to wait and wait because you are 1 million in the queue then when you finally do get through the the receptionist low and behold all the appointments are taken and you have to ring back the next morning...what about the elderly?, What about the really sick folk?????......and don't get me started on the appointments with the robots, I mean robots really?????... Please think long and hard about this message. People do not want a phone call from a doctor they want to see a doctor, be examined properly and to feel reassured...this cannot go on.
If I could give zero stars I would have. As the majority of reviews have mentioned the phone lines are ridiculous - the recorded message needs updating. Obviously in place to make it seem like you’re not waiting so long, once you’re through and selected you then get out on hold forever. Again as the majority have mentioned the reception staff bar the one or two are the rudest I’ve come across - baring in mind I’ve moved 17 times… one in particular - Jo - is disgracefully rude with a shocking attitude. In fact I’ve saved the number as “DRS do not speak to Jo” as a reminder when I call / receive a call. The amount of times they’ve misdiagnosed and given the wrong medication to myself and family is untold, also another serious incident that I won’t go in to… anyway DO NOT JOIN!!!
Impossible to get appointment and bad customer service. I called at 8.02, and I have to wait for long time on phone to speak to the telephone operator. Still I could not get the appointment. Try to book the appointment online at 1.10. could not get any appointments. Again I called the the practice and waited for 7.00 mins to speak someone. Call got disconnect.
The Doctors there are phenomenal, all of them I’ve ever had have looked after me and ensured I was well both physically and mentally before dismissal from the surgery.
Ridiculous system whereby you can only make appointments on the day, no advance appointments.... as if that wasn't bad enough, you can only make the appointment at 2 specific times of the day! When the time comes around, you can't get through to book an appointment on the phone as the line is constantly engaged/busy can't even leave a message or join a queue and the website has crashed so you can't use that either.
My word, this is a shambles. Have been with the practice for 30 years but it's never been this difficult to see a doctor. Start with the six-minute answer-phone message really it is that long... before you even get an option as to what you might be calling for. Then find that you can only ring at 8.00am and 2.00pm if you need to make an appointment to see a doctor. Only appointments on the day you call can be arranged - no booking an appointment a few days in advance. Ring at 2.00pm, as you were told, listen to the six-minute message again before you get in the queueing system for the appointment. Hurrah you're number 5 in the queue! Wait for 25 minutes to be told all the appointments have gone and the doctor you needed to see wasn't even working that day anyway. Be told by the receptionist to try again the next day. It's hideous, and it's designed to make you give up. It assumes that everyone can make phone-calls at 8.00am and 2.00pm sorry to those of you who work at those time - unlucky! and that you have at least 30 minutes to spare while you wait on the phone to get through again, unlucky those of you who work!. And - that if you are lucky enough to finally get through - you need to be in the vicinity quickly enough to get into the practice very shortly for you appointment. If you try to book online - and yes, I did try - you find that although the MyGP app tells you that you can add children aged 12-15 to your profile and make appointments for them, once you've shown consent from the child, WFP doesn't accept consent with regards children of that age - despite what the app says. It's dreadful and is deliberately designed to deter you from trying.
I am not a fan of the practice and it's not really my cup of tea don't really like one of the GPS that works there and the receptionist was very rude to me over the phone her tone of voice and atitude was sharp and rude.
Before covid it was great, they offer a lot of services but since covid it's impossible to see someone in person. The pre-recorded message is way too long. Reception staff are hit and miss, some have been very helpful, but I had one receptionist tell me that 'cancer patients were more important than me so I should stop pushing to get the referral' that the hospital has told me I needed. The nurses are always lovely. I'm not sure why they are still not offering face to face GP appointments when most people have been back working face to face for over a year.
I have been at this surgery for over 10 years until covid I had been quite happy with the care received despite the rude unhelpful receptionist . However since the first lock down now two years on it has been basically shut! They don’t offer face to face appointments, you have to wait at least 3 weeks for a phone appointment it’s completely ridiculous. Why are they still working from home when everyone else has been back out at work for over a year.. I have been forced to attend A&e more than once as it’s impossible to see a GP. They may just as well shut completely as they are offering no use at the moment what about patient safety? I am looking for a new surgery to join
