Good but not as good as the 1 in Hayward's Heath. Also people of EG seem to be a very angry bunch and sometimes nasty which can make a visit to the town and its stores very unpleasant.

Shop and staff is ok. But fellow customers are not so nice when you're trying to shop with your children. You may get dirty looks when your munchkins are a bit louder or your toddler may bump into someone who won't even look to see if they didn't get hurt etc. Also there was a newspaper "stand" where fast service tills are. Conveniently removed from there now, so when you forgot to pick your free ( with a £10 spend) newspaper you need to leave the shopping and the cashier waiting and walk to the other end by the exit to get it from there. That whole trip for the free newspaper (when you forget to pick it on your way ) does not make the fast service very fast..or a pleasant experience.

Paying a premium price to shop at a supermarket that has a class competitors nearby should mean that standards are high (waitrose should already attain high standards just by name). Unfortunately Waitrose East Grinstead misses the mark in several areas. 1) often understocked 2) broken freezers and refrigeration units (first concern raised over a year ago - still plenty of defrosting produce) 3) staff try thier best but some (particularly the carry-overs from previous store ownership - safeways/ morrisons are rude and patronising - quick to roll eyes which doesn't fill you with much confidence) I personally shop in waitrose because it's clean, aisles are spacious and their own produce (duchy etc) is second to none. I am content with paying above the average for these minor privaldges (not snobbery...) However, the EG branch is a shambles most of the time 😥

Not a bad store, the one in Haywards Heath is much better!
