This is a medium sized Waitrose store. It is clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Stock is reasonable but limited a bit by space. There is a fairly large car park butnit is really the only one in Ampthill so gets very busy on Thursdays market day and weekends. Go early on those days or expect a frustrating wait.
Lady at the self check outs was really nice. Some staff in fresh meats didn't get a good vibe Parking a nightmare, with people going the wrong way just to jump the queues. The demographic of people differs from your average top supermarket company stores, I think some in there feel very privileged over others especially when you are walking through. People that think they have class, don't really have class.
Great store, I’ve found some of the more obscure products a bit hard to find, but the staff are always happy to help. It’s hard to ignore how unbearable some of the customers can be though… They strut around with an air of entitlement, barking orders at staff like they’re running a private butler service. Is it so hard to just be polite?
I like shopping at Waitrose, but they do seem to be very good at putting up their prices these days, the food is good but they are pushing their luck, it won't take much more if it to make me switch.
Love waitros, the quality of there stock is of the most high standard. It may cost 20 pence more than aldi? However the extra cost of 20 pence is worth it! Also the staff at waitrose are most helpful and very knowledgeable about there shop!
