A really lovely store with good quality food and baked treats. The café was really soothing with newspapers to read. A member of staff called Hans was really kind and looked after me today with amazing customer service. Thank you so much. A really pleasant experience.
This is a review on the cafe. It was not very good. They had a decent drink selection and you can get one with a kids meal. I got the kids meal pizza, and I swear it was just oven cooked frozen pizza, probably from their own store because why not. They had like a pastry buffet like scones and stuff but not much option really. I didn’t like the pizza. Never come to the cafe, just come to shop.
You can only park for up to 90 minutes in the Waitrose car park, whereas the St John’s Wells Lane car park is ‘next door’ and is up to 10nHours.
By some distance, this is not the best Waitrose I’ve ever been in. Prices are extremely expensive—easily around 30% higher than other supermarkets—and the variety of products is surprisingly low for a store of this size. Many items you’d expect to find just aren’t available.nnThe parking situation doesn’t help either: you only get 1.5 hours, which feels unnecessarily restrictive and adds stress to the whole visit.nnThe biggest disappointment, though, was the quality of the produce. The baby tomatoes tasted like chemicals, which is honestly worrying from a health perspective. It makes me think about what future generations are being exposed to if this is considered acceptable.nnOverall, I will definitely not be coming back. Between the high prices, limited stock, poor parking, and questionable food quality, it’s simply not worth it.
This has to be the most outstanding Waitrose store, while Waitrose products aren’t as good as they used to be. Waitrose Berkhamsted store is by far the best.That’s all due to its incredible team of staff members who go above and beyond. Always a friendly face, can’t help you enough and nothing is too much trouble.nFrom the shop floor to the cafe. I want to especially thank a few members of staff by name, the lovely Claire, who went above and beyond, so kind and caring, came to my aid in my time of need. Massive thank you. I’m eternally grateful. Maddie who also helped and had kind words and compassion. Annette, Jenny, Louise, Mark, Vicky.
