The Waitrose in Kingston occupies a large basement area of the John Lewis department store consequently it is a nice well stocked supermarket which includes fish, meat and delicatessen counters.
Excellent supermarket with an great range of quality product. People discuss the cheapest s/market, I have always for many years been more than satisfied with the quality/value ratio and coupled with knowledgeable and courteous staff. For me unbeatable. Their home delivery option is superb.
I was looking for water and the brand on the shelf I was looking for ran out and I have found the most helpful and lovely staff I came across JJ John Jones I've never came across customer service like that it's what we need more of. He helped organise my trolly, got me the water I was looking for and asked if I need any more help. Waitrose please look after him.
Popping into Waitrose Windsor is a bit like stepping into the First Class galley mid-flight – everything is calm, orderly, and beautifully presented, with just the right touch of posh. If you’re used to aisle service at 38,000 feet, this is your ground-level equivalent.nnThe store itself is bright, clean, and impeccably organised no chaotic trolleys or overhead locker drama here. The produce section is a cornucopia of perfectly stacked fruit and veg even the avocados look like they’ve passed a final inspection, and the flowers are fresh enough to rival the Chelsea Flower Show. One half expected to see the Queen’s florist popping in for a bunch of peonies.nnStaff are polite, efficient, and genuinely helpful no forced smiles or robotic greetings, just that proper British service that says, “We’re here if you need us, but we won’t hover.” The kind of service that wouldn’t go amiss in the pointy end of the plane.nnThe bakery section deserves a little fanfare of its own – warm loaves, buttery pastries, and sausage rolls that taste like they’ve been made with actual care and possibly a Mary Berry blessing. And don’t get me started on the cheese counter – it’s practically a passport to France.nnParking is easy thanks to the attached car park though the bays are a bit on the snug side, see my Q-Park review for more on that tight squeeze, and you’re a short stroll from Windsor’s high street and castle. Frankly, it’s the perfect spot to do your shop before heading to the Long Walk with a picnic.nnAll in all, Waitrose Windsor is a polished performer – stylish, serene, and superbly stocked. If service and standards matter to you and as a former First Class crew member, they matter to me, you’ll feel right at home. And yes, I did pick up a chilled rosé and some olives… it would’ve been rude not to.
During my visit, I encountered a staff member whose behaviour was both rude and ignorant. Their approach was completely inappropriate, making my shopping experience very unpleasant. I believe this kind of conduct falls far short of the standards I expect from Waitrose.nnWhite male, slim build around 50 years of age, with glasses, normally at the self checkouts I asked for availability of a wine and he sighed stating “I should I asked someone else whilst shopping and not left it last minute at the checkout”nnI hope you will look into this matter, as such behaviour can really impact a customer's perception of your brand and this is not the first time in this branch.
