BUYER BEWARE I have purchased footwear from Wainwrights for the past 45years for myself and my grandchildren, including boots by RM Williams, on one occasion buying 3 pairs during a sale, during that time I cannot recall just how many pairs purchased but safe to say a lot. So I was absolutely dumbstruck to learn when I recently returned a pair of unworn shoes within 6 days of purchase that you do not offer refunds.This was not mentioned on purchase. I could choose another pair or have a credit note, I am not sure if this is actually legal. Having recently had a similar experience with Clarks who immediately refunded the money to my credit card. I will redeem the credit note one day after which never again will I step foot in your shop Mr Wainwright.

Wainwright's is one of the last of a dying breed, shops that has knowledgeable, attentive staff that sell good quality merchandise. I was there yesterday and bought a pair of Barker Bourne loafers, they had two other pairs that I liked too, because I couldn't decide I ended up buying the other two. That's £360 for three pairs of Barker Shoes that last forever, all because the staff care!

A nice, friendly shoe shop with a great range of shoes and always helpful staff. I have shopped here many times and will continue to do so.
