A true National Trust treasure. This estate and manor is one of the best, created by one of the founding bank families of Europe. The beautiful grounds, gardens, playground and shuttle to the old stable (now cafe) are stunning. The house tour is great, (best to book early as gets really busy), amazing to see what can be done with infinite funding. Great day out for all the family. Will be going back soon.

Beautiful place to visit. Wait until the weather is nicer if you planning to visit. Learn about history and travel back in time. Widnes your views of decorations and people 'skills and lifestyle. Amazing place to spend some time. Garden is beautiful. Go and visit this beautiful place. Great day out for children as well.

A neo-renaissance palace, so a little bit too artificial for my taste. Every detail is a perfect work of art and there is a huge eclectic collection. Their restaurant has very good chefs with seasonal menu. There are more gardens with different style, and every year you can see special and very creative modern art installations. It was different every time when I visited there.

Love this place. It's a beautiful building with fantastic grounds and views. Lots of nooks and crannies for kids to explore with different hidden playgrounds for different ages. A very long tube slide is a winner for my two boys and the aviary absolutely fascinated my eldest aged nine. They now have a park and ride system too which means less clogging up the roads with cars. Wonderful day out for families.

Amazing place! Will definitely go back as there was so much to look at. Beautiful grounds and a fascinating house. I particularly liked the round room with the Sleeping Beauty pictures in. Bring plenty of cash as the shops are excellent too.
