Arrived late in the day having been severely disappointed with the original place I was meant to be staying for a spa experience. The staff couldn’t have done more to help me out, they were kind, polite and got myself and my friends checked into two, spacious and comfortable rooms next door to one another swiftly. The decor is modern and rooms are very clean, food in the bar area was amazing and the facilities are great too. Everything about our stay was fabulous but I’d have to say the staff are just so helpful I think they deserve a second mention! Thank you Village Bury, I’ll definitely be back.
The hotel is in a good location and is modern and pleasant enough inside. The beds were comfy but like most hotel beds, a little bit on the firm side. My main gripe with the room was the noise. I kept thinking the windows were open as I could hear so much. We stayed on a Saturday night and I was woken up at 1.40am by a coach load of people arriving at the hotel. Breakfast was pretty poor. The coffee is watery and flavourless. The cooked breakfast is just OK. It's a help yourself situation with no hash browns, tomatoes or mushrooms. However, it was cheaper than most hotel breakfasts and you could keep helping yourself to as much as you like. Another thing I wasn't keen on was the massive screen in the breakfast room playing the news. But that's just personal preference. We didn't use the pool so I can't comment on that.
Nice tidy clean room. The girl who checked me in was attractive and friendly. Lol. Was very clean which is a big thing for me. Car parking was plentiful but you have to pay for it. The drink and food was good. Nothing I could say against the quality but the price was a little on the expensive side. All in I really enjoyed my stay and would visit again
I w.ant to say the village gym is really good. We go to the gym and I would like to say that Connor the pt is amazing works 200% each time I have a session my son loves his private session with him as sometimes teen gym doesn't go ahead. Please reward this young man as he goes out of his way for his clients. Now his is on his own and he even cares about families as he is covered for children so no need to worry about your children going in the session. Thank you so much.
This is a fantastic Hotel, staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were big, comfortable beds and lovely en suites. It would have been nice to have had bottled water in the room along with the tea and coffee facilities. Everything you need for a nice over night stayRooms: 4/5
A great hotel offering a range of services just off the m66. I attended today for a training session and the interactions I had with staff were positive and e welcoming. All the services available were great quality and care evidently taken regarding presentation. An accessible building with many different uses and services available.
We was staying for the party night. Fantastic night, tables, room, drinks we pre ordered on the table. Fantastic value for money. Meal was lovely great atmosphere, staff excellent and service excellent. Breakfast lovely, great facilities and fab room. Comfortable beds. Highly recommend this hotel so giving 5 star for fantastic hotel.
We stayed here in July for what was going to be a 10 day stay, we ended up staying only one night. Getting suitcases up a staircase wasn't easy at all, later found out there was an elevator at the side but we didn't see signs for it. Check in was strange, automated but people at the desk helped us, got up to our rooms in an elevator, hallway was kind of dark but it was fine. Room was incredibly dark and the bathroom only had one single towel, no washcloths. The futon also had no extra sheets and it was a family room. So as it was late we thought we would go for a drink at the bar and ask for additional towels and sheets. We asked at the front desk and they were happy to oblige, in fact they wanted to hand us the sheets and towels right then and there. As we didn't want to sit at the bar with a pile of towels and sheets we said no, so they offered to put them in our room. We said yes that would be great. So we found a table..albeit a dirty table and enjoyed our drinks. They were great if you like really flat coke. When we get back up to our room we find a ball of linens on our futon and our suitcases open. SOMEONE HAD SEARCHED THROUGH OUR SUITCASES!!!!! Thank God my husband had brought down all our money and passports. This felt like such an absolute violation of our privacy, so disgustingly shady that we decided to cancel the rest of stayand hightail it out of there the next morning. We had breakfast at the hotel and honestly it was the highlight of our one day stay. Absolutely horrible experience, do not recommend whatsoever!!
Front of Hotel staff were really great and friendly. Bar staff also friendly and efficient. No hot water in room, was hotel wide issue over a couple of days, not enough light in bathroom to put on makeup, lift lights were perfect for this though, and a hole under the windowsill but radiators nice and hot which made up for this, although bright light shone through onto sleeping area. Can't ask for help without downloading an app or going to reception. Would choose another hotel in future, due to these issues, so not installing another app. Great location though for easy and quick trip into great Bury nightlife, so worth considering for this reason.
This is a review to hopefully prevent other visitors to bar/restaurant area having to experience the embarrassment we endured. From 11:30am-2:00pm sixteen seats are actually reserved for a company and you MUST NOT sit there. There will be no indication that 16 seats are reserved for a company, you just have to be in the know. We wanted a booth due to the work and colleague meeting we were conducting in the restaurant. This did not impact the 16 seats the reservation needed and left them with a “corner booth”, a solution I had to offer to help resolve the issue. Laura the bar manager was unreasonable, irate and rude, to the point where she found it acceptable to shout loud enough to the kitchen “do you really expect me to serve them now?”. The company that reserves the 16 seats is a high risk GDPR company Laura revealed this to us with the company name and you will be told that they’ve made a complaint that you sat in a table next to them. Wonderful to know that because we sat at a table, we’re now the talk of another complaint. I’ve had a follow up call from an email I sent to the bar to highlight that we did get a resolution but they need to be aware of the issues and concerns surround the customer service we had experienced. Laura’s attitude were defended as they’ve had the reservation for a month and the call ended when the finishing sentence was “we’re both busy women, we don’t have time to be doing round in circles”. I didn’t need a resolution as the issue was solved, I didn’t even need a fall up call or email, however seeing there was one, it really needed to just be an acknowledgement of the complaint and they’re reviewing their policy e.g section off the area if that’s what the company has paid for, not a lengthy justification as to why we were spoken to the way we were. I will say that on all of our previous visits, we have been met with wonderful customer service and we had great service on this occasion from the lady who served us breakfast I didn’t catch her name but she had a dark brown bob haircut, she was chatty, attentive and continued a high level of service even after comments were made. Ryan the manager who took over the situation in the end was polite, listened to our point of view as a customer. This would early be a 4 star review and somewhere we’d continue to conduct business, it’s a shame one person can spoil a teams hard work and efforts to provide excellent customer service. I don’t require a follow comment or email, the phone was sufficient enough.
