I've been going to this gym 3 to 4 times a week for about 6 months. It's an alright gym, it feels a little neglected but I like the atmosphere, it has a good mixture of users, all shapes and sizes.
I think it's slightly over priced for what it is, but I do enjoy using the facilities and it's a good location for me. The staff seem a bit demotivated but on the other hand are a great bunch of people and I always like saying hello to them.

BUT It would be nice if they could fix the legs machine as it has been out of action since last year!!

I am a member of Ashton village and was informed when I joined that I could use any village gym. Turned up today to Hyde only to be greeted by a very unhelpful Debbie!!! She told me I couldn't use the gym there and that the terms of membership had changed. I had never been informed of this and neither had my partner who had been turned away 30 minutes before. We had arranged to meet there as a one off, when I explained to the Power Driven Debbie that we could have come as a guest of a member and as a good will guesture she could let us in today, she flatly refused, saying ' I can't let everyone in who comes from Ashton' bearing in mind the gym was quiet and no one entered or left while we were there. Debbie was very rude and I will not be renewing my membership, nor will my partner, I am not paying to be treated in such a disrespectful manner!!!!

Used the Groupon offer of 10 sessions for £19. 
Pros. Lots of variety at the gym and always something available to work your muscle group. 
Cons. Only once did I see a staff member giving advice on the floor. 
You have to take your own padlock for the locker, although they do have spares, they're only for full members. 
Evidence of locker break ins. 
Weights are never put back. 
Swimming pool only has one lane available due to children swimming lessons. 
Sauna, only used once due to bad smell. 
Personally I would not join, the place has no atmosphere and looks tired n old.

Been a gold member 3 years paying £55 per month. The gold membership is so you can use any club in the group. I joined at Hyde and have been using Ashton as there’s a gew of us go together. Ashton have new lockers that they require a further deposit for a rubber band to use the lockers...they have my bank details and charge over £650 per year but won’t trust me to give a locker band back. Not for me I’m cancelling and going elsewhere the service is none existent. I have had valid complaints previously and theyre only response is to ask you to call them!! No more

If you want a gym that constantly stinks of other people's sweat with no air conditioning and one that robs you blind, then this is the gym for you.

Cancelled my student membership on the 12th May 2017 and staff were so incompetent that it was finally processed the following month, leaving me with 70 pounds to pay for 2 months I wasn't even attending. Tried to explain this to several people over the phone, yet the person that I actually needed to speak to (the manager) never seemed to be available. After receiving a text message about my "debt" being forwarded to a debt agency, I decided to pay the money just to shut everyone up. 

I am now down 70 of my own pounds for a gym I haven't used, because of incompetent staff. 

I won't be bothering with The Village again and neither should you.
