We had the most amazing Valentine’s evening at Viceroy Duffield! The £50 set menu was really well planned and worth every penny. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and romantic, perfect for the occasion.nWe started with papadum and mixed pickle, which was fresh and tasty. The starters were amazing — especially the Tandoori King Prawn and Baby Lamb Chop. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavour.nFor the mains, we had the Chicken Karahi and Viceroy Special, and both were rich, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The Saag Aloo and Tarka Daal went so well with the Pilou rice and Garlic Naan. You could tell everything was freshly made.nThe service was truly top notch. The staff were so attentive, polite, and friendly throughout the evening. They made sure everything was perfect without being intrusive.nAnd the dessert at the end was the perfect sweet finish to a lovely meal — such a nice touch to complete the Valentine’s experience.nDefinitely a 5-star experience for us, and we will absolutely be back again!
Here is a full honest review on my first visit to the Viceroy Duffield. We was recomended to this indian and on arrival on valetines night we dudnt know what to expect. First Parking was a nightmare avery small car park and we had to park two streets away which wasnt good because it was cold and wet.nnHowever the entrance was all decorated with red heart shape baloons , red baloons , red carpet and glitter and looked really nice. We were shown to our table again nicely deorated with a red rose for the ladies and a red heart shape baloon.nnDown side the menu was a set menu at £50 per person which consisted of one poppadom each, pickle tray, a medley of starters, 3 curry dishes and 1 rice and 1 nan between 2 of us. We had to wait 90mins for the starters which were good. Another 60 mins for the three curries which when they came hardly had any meat in them and were mainly just sauce, very disapointing. Another 30 mins for the desert which was one desert to share. Total 3 hours with lots of waiting time.nnThere were 2 dozen people all waiting hours for their take aways standing right infront of our table all night which wasnt very nice. People kept bumping into our chairs whilst we were trying to eat. Everywhere around us all we could hear were people complaing anout waitingbfor hours for the food. The owner had a very loud stand up argument with the table behind us again spoiling the atmosphere every where went silent.nnTo summerise the venue looked good, the service was very poor, the starters were good, the mains were poor, the desert was ok, the price £110.50 for two was way too much.nMy total Stars are 1 sorry Viceroy.
I had a superb meal with my wife. Onion bhaji for me to start, very nice although I prefer the looser ball style to the patty. My wife had sliced lamb loin with rogan sauce which she really enjoyed, and she is difficult to please. I had goat salun which was excellent with a deep flavour. The staff are very pleasant and the boss was in the restaurant and he is a very pleasant gentleman. The location and parking are very good. I look forward to my next visit.
We recently hosted a 30th birthday celebration for 20 guests at The Viceroy in Duffield and the experience was truly five-star from start to finish. If you're looking for a venue to handle a large party with ease and elegance, look no further!nnThe service was absolutely fabulous. Managing 20 people, including separate dietary requests, is no small feat, but the staff were attentive, professional, and incredibly welcoming, making the evening flow perfectly without any stress.nnAnd the food! The Indian cuisine here is genuinely exceptional - our set menu was exceptional and all piping hot. Several of our guests commented that it was the best Indian meal they had eaten in ages.nnThank you to the entire team, particularly Mirza, for making Henry’s 30th birthday celebration so seamless and memorable. Highest possible recommendation!
Great 30th birthday meal.nnCelebrated my friend’s birthday, and we all loved it.We were seated in the little private room which was perfect for us. The food was delicious . The service was excellent , the all waiters were all very attentive including our main waiter Mirza.
