I've never seen a more disorganized institution. So disorganized and unprofessional that their own professor wanted to sue them. Deserve zero stars. It's been more than five weeks since I cancelled their offer and asked for a deposit refund yet there's no view of it! Completely illegal! Students' deposit payments are protected by the UK's Consumer Rights Act!nThis is pretty common practice as you can tell from previous reviews. I highly suggest the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education OIA and the Office for Students OfS conduct an investigation into this institution! Sharing my experiences here so hopefully no students fall into their trap in the future!
Urgent refund request…nI received a conditional offer from the University of Sunderland main campus in May 2025, with the only condition being to pay a £5,750 deposit. After confirming seat availability through their official representative in Bangladesh, I paid the deposit on June 20.nnJust five days later, I received an email stating that the program had been closed and my offer had been withdrawn due to a high volume of applications. The university promised a refund within 6 weeks — but that never happened.nnDespite multiple emails to the International Office, Student Casework, Finance, and even involving my aunt who is in the UK and paid the deposit, no one has properly responded. On August 11 — 7 weeks after my application was withdrawn — I was told that my refund was now approved and I should wait another 6 weeks. So the timeline basically restarted.nnIt’s now almost 10 weeks since the withdrawal, and I’ve received no refund, no proper communication, and no resolution. Because of this delay, I missed the Fall 2025 intake despite having an offer from other universities. This has caused severe stress and financial problems.nnI’m deeply frustrated and request the University of Sunderland to process my refund immediately and respond to my complaints. This situation is unacceptable for any student, especially international ones.
Lovely experience ,lecturers are well rooted in lecturing .
Although i admit i enjoyed first year. If you end up behind on course work or you're going through personal stuff, maybe even just struggle accidemically in general, teachers have a habit of telling you there here to support you only to not care or be around when needed. I've wasted a lot of time waiting around for support from teachers but sadly They really don't care if you fail or will fail like they claim to and there is clearly some favourtisim amongst more talented or skilled students, which is a shame. If you're decent at what you do and don't fall behind i think it can be a decent place to study.
Absolutely terrible university. Studying online and I honestly cannot believe what a shambles the university is and how poor the material is. There are some good individuals working here but generally its a mess and no one wants to take responsibility to fix it.
