We only had a day to spend in Belfast and this was one of the places we prioritised to visit. My favourite section was the Irish history one but I am a history nerd! but also found the room dedicated to the Spanish Armada really interesting. Husband and kids really enjoyed the natural history and science floor, which was more their interest. The section about 'The Troubles' was well done and our children left having a better understanding about this period of history. There is a good art floor, which is a mixture of old and modern. This museum is free to visit but donations are appreciated.
---nnn**Wonderful Museum and Friendly Staff!**nI had such a great experience at Ulster Museum. The exhibits are well-organized, engaging, and offer something for all ages. The museum is well-maintained and has a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly—they were more than happy to answer questions and guide us through some of the displays. Overall, a fantastic place to spend a few hours learning and exploring. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area!nn---nnYou can modify it based on your visit!
This is an amazing museum. As soon as we entered we were greeted by one of the staffs who suggested us the proper way to cover museum exhibits.nWe started from 5th floor and came all the way till the ground floor.nThere were amazing paintings in the museum. The exhibits are amazing. It is a free public museum so anyone can visit but better to check the timings.nThere is a cafeteria on the ground floor. I was so disappointed in the hot chocolate that I purchased there. It was not even hot. Unnecessary expense. The gift shop hosts variety of products but postcards and magnets are not good collectibles to buy here.nIt’s an amazing place to bring kids. The rocks and minerals section is remarkable. There is a fluorescent rocks section that usually many people miss it. They pass by it never are keen to go there
Permanent, rotating, and temporary exhibitions of natural history, social history, and arts in one place. Next to botanical gardens. Very convenient.
A great Museum to visit, lots to see and do and it's really well laid out.nThe 'Troubles' section is really interesting the Paintings are also great especially the Caravaggio nIt's free to enter and is located in the middle of the Botanical Gardens which are nice nIt's a 'must see' if you find yourself in Belfast
