SS Nomadic

About

SS Nomadic carried first and second class passengers out to Titanic from the French Port of Cherbourg. She was built in Harland and Wolff in Belfast alongside Titanic and Olympic and is now the only remaining White Star Line vessel in the world.

Story

Exactly one quarter size of Titanic, Nomadic was built using the same steel, the same rivets by the same people in Harland and Wolff Belfast. Nomadic carried many famous people to Titanic, but also continued as a tender to many other great ocean going liners. She also saw service as a troop carrier in World War One, and a mine sweeper in World War Two, and her varied career prior to returning home included being a floating restaurant and nightclub in Paris

Fascinating insight into the world of Titanic with a refurbished boat that was built to service its passengers. Amazing staff provide great knowledge and bring the vessel to life. Worth every penny. Suggest to do this before the Titanic Museum - it's in the price but this closes earlier.

Fantastic ship. So much history. Our son Cosmo thoroughly enjoyed his time aboard. Gayle was amazing. Absolutely passionate about her job, Good to see. She even told us about Sir Cosmo which our Cosmo thought was fantastic.

Small but perfectly formed. An interesting, tactile experience to add to the other titanic offerings. Book the white star pass to make the most of your trip.

Nice to see as part of the Titanic tour I'm not sure if you can choose to see this only but it's not as good at the main attraction, kids enjoyed the little exercise to spot and note down figures placed on ship to get certificate.
