Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel at all, especially for those looking for some rest and relaxation. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and, upon entering our room, the first thing we noticed was that everything needed renovating: the mattress and pillows, the furniture, the windows which did not insulate, and all the bathroom fixtures. In addition, it was very hot, and there was only one little fan. But the worst was yet to come. After dinner, the pub opened, and the music began to blare. We already knew that the hotel had a pub, but what we didn't know was that it was so poorly insulated from the rooms. Guests staying in rooms on the first floor found it impossible to sleep until the pub closed. Pub customers kept shouting in the street, making it impossible to open the windows to cool down the room, and they even urinated in the doorways of nearby shops. Last but not least, we had a significant problem with parking. The room price includes parking, which is payment zone behind the hotel. However, the hotel made the mistake of not reporting our car's registration number to the parking authority, and as a result we received a fine which, although it has now been withdrawn, has resulted in a charge from the car hire company, which the hotel has refused to pay even though they are responsible. In short, we won't be back.
Service was decent, price was a bit shocking. Nearly £6 for a vodka cranberry! Decent music but prices need work.nnResponse to owners. Across the road in whetherspoons I can get a double shot of vodka and cranberry juice for £3.50. May not have music but i'd be pissed in a flash and at a quarter of the price as your single shot drink cost nearly double the price of a double shot across the road.
Good atmosphere. Great food. Very reasonable prices. BUT be warned - pay parking with cash, not card, otherwise you cannot claim it back.
Lovely little place in a great location central to the town. Food was great for both dinner and the included breakfast. Room was very spacious with both bath and shower had booked a suit. Will certainly stay again if in the area.
I booked the bridal suite for my bf birthday the room was beautiful and there was mil tea sugar on the tray and the breakfast was excellent I will be back again also my little dog came to and she loved it the staff were very polite and helpful I will give it a 10 star as its a beautiful pub and the staff and the manager are very polite and friendly I would recommend it to any one
