Usually helpful and polite but I went at 9:20 today and it wasn't open. My husband had driven me there to post a parcel as yesterday we went to Shenley Church End po and at 10:30 it was closed. The man serving in the shop said she would arrive in a few minutes which she didn't. I said I had someone waiting in the car for me. He said what are you in a hurry or something? I said actually yes! We were on our way to do our weekly supermarket shop. My husband does work all week. I then asked him if he could do the parcel himself. He reluctantly replied that he could and sloped off to get the cash float. Even as he was serving me he was saying that it wouldn't be collected until 12:30 anyway. I don't have all day to pop back to post offices on the off chance that staff may have finally turned up for work! Yes there was snow on the ground and my husband has driven from MK to Oxford all week to attend his work. This staff member could have offered to serve right away instead of me having to bully him into it.

Terrible service. A couple of months ago I was refused a till receipt or any other proof of posting. I was told it does not exist Yesterday I was overcharged for 2 books of postage stamps! I queried this and was again refused a till receipt. I returned having recalculated at home, and was told by the assistant that he assumed 1st and 2nd class stamps were the same price! (He gave me my money back) This is worrying with regard to more important transactions. I agree with a previous reviewer. If you don't want to run a post office, let someone else do it.

October 2017 In recent times the service here has improved a lot and they are open for long hours, so a useful local facility

Day time service is slick and very helpful, "out of hours" has some phone assistance for the unusual stuff but equally friendly and helpful. Good range of well priced packaging.
