The staff at Twilight are fantastic! You get a friendly personal service. They are really through with every aspect of the consultation. I have had 4 different stylist do my hair and have been more than happy every time. I first went 3 years ago after a home box dye disaster and have been with them ever since. I have also had make up done there a few times also which was very professional with great products used . This place is highly recommended by me and all my family who now go! even the hubby loves a trip here!
I cannot understand why this salon has only been given 2.5 stars. It is definitely worth the 5! After reading the bad reviews on this salon and having my hair done yesterday, I couldn't believe I went to the same salon. I couldn't disagree more with the bad reviews. I went in with my hair in pretty bad condition, Michael coloured my hair and Paul cut and styled it and I can honestly say my hair has never felt in better condition. They made a great job and I will definitely be going back. There are many hairdressers in Manchester that do a very bad job, but this salon I would definitely recommend, great colour, cut and friendly staff!!
I've been there before the holidays with my friend who's a regular there, with a half price voucher. I went for a skin test on the previous day expecting to get at least a basic consultation of what I wanted done, but despite the salon being empty at 10am in the morning I was somewhat rushed out and told I'd have that discussion the next day at the actual appointment. I couldn't get any advice or even reconfirm my over the phone quote of £40 for a vague long hair colour and cut. Anyway the next day we got to the salon which can be found in NQ at the ground floor of a very nice building, but once you get in, the actual salon is quite small with only 3 chairs, reception desk and waiting area all crammed in one. Small space is not a problem by any means but this particular salon gave me the impression of an improvised space, very generic with not much personality, where passion for hair and customer experience seem to be not their main priority. Unfortunately my initial impression was confirmed. My friend was offered a drink/tea straight away, I had to wait about 20 minutes to build up courage and ask for one. Now getting to the hair part, I was told that a blonde ombre would just not lift on my dark brown hair so instead I should go with half head of highlights and a cut for which I actually had to pay £65, quite a difference to the initial quote. Even though paying more for something fairly different than what I initially had in mind is not ideal, I was flexible and I went with it thinking that they know what they're doing and it should look good in the end. From here on I was expecting a bit of hair pampering and a good experience with my friend. Wrong again! The highlighting started without the hairdresser even brushing my whole hair, she just went on with parting it in sections and only painfully brushing small sections which went in the foil. The 'stylist' and hairdresser I got were completely bored and unexcited, distracted and last but not least quite brutal with my hair. Furthermore, the explanation that blonde ombre would not lift on my hair but blonde highlights will is completely bonkers, especially after the bright blonde strands I had after less than 50 min in foil. Also split ends wouldn't have been a huge problem as I gave them the freedom to cut 3 inches off my hair. The 'lifting' excuse was purely for the sake of using less product and time on a person with a voucher. Then the cut I got, was from the receptionist/stylist which apparently has no idea what a layered cut is and just went on with some bizarre layering in front , where he left longer layers than on the side, and in the back.... well he just chopped it in a straight line. Unfortunately I couldn't see the 'effect' in the salon because he blow dried and curled the ends so the unevenness was not visible. As I mentioned before the brushing was less than gentle and a fair amount of my virgin, well cared after hair was left in his brush. And that sums up my glorious experience at Twilight. Strangely enough, my friend got a successful root touch up with platinum toning and blow dry from a pair of friendly and attentive stylists if I recall correctly they were the owner and a girl called Hailey so that's the main reason why I didn't complain then and there, I didn't want to ruin her experience with my disappointment. And apparently good service is possible as well at this salon. To conclude, if you really want to push your luck on a Twilight experience at least don't go there on a 50%off voucher unless you're ready for the service quality to be 50% off as well.
I was not sure on what to expect at my daughters appointment yesterday because of the awful reviews that i've read after getting my voucher from Groupon, but i must say that i have a great customer service, from the receptionist and the beautician, both lovely and very helpful. I guess it alls depend on your approaching. If you go with a smile you'll get a smile back. Rose was fantastic. Great service. she give 100% service.
I used a voucher for highlights and a haircut, yes it is small but everyone's lovely, I was really pleased with my hair and I'll definitely be going again!
I would not recommend this salon for waxing, i used my groupon voucher there yesterday and the woman didn't even do it correct, i was left stinging and it was red raw. I've got up today and i have bruises. Will definitely not be going here again!
Small salon definately not worth the money.
