I ordered from this restaurant and found a METAL SCREW in my lamb. How on earth that got in there, I have no idea. I alerted the waiters and they stated they would refund me the cost of the dish (which is below £65.00) and give me a free dish. I had already ordered enough food and did not want another dish - but the refund simply was not good enough. The screw itself is sharp and thick and would have caused internal damage if I had swallowed it. I explained this to the 'Chef' who became aggressive and refused to refund me anymore. He does not know where the screw came from. He then told me to F*** off and leave immediately. Simply not good enough and dangerous. I would NOT recommend this restaurant. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Went to Turners at 69 on 2nd December as a treat for my wife's birthday. Our first fine dining experience, it was fantastic. The main food courses were beautiful, and there were exciting taster dishes also along the way. We were there over 3 hours just enjoying the experience in a relaxed non-rushed fashion. The waiting staff were attentive and friendly with good interpersonal skills. All areas of the restaurant were clean. As mentioned I had looked around as this was our first time, studying their website and also Trip Adviser; at the last moment I came across the reviews here and became very nervous. Don't be, it's like they went somewhere else, I would definitely go back again.

Where can I start.... I was greeted by the Chef who was very forceful in selling me alcohol even though i don’t drink ..when me and my partner we kindly told him sorry no as when don’t drink any alcohol. He then turned into a raging animal then said me and my husband aren’t welcomed. To me he has a clear-vendetta against people of colour. We decided to leave, bad experience definitely the restaurant did smell sightly of old fish. If you are looking for a decent ambience along with human like exchanges go to Simpson’s or Carter’s and Purnels where the service has been always very good.

Fantastic food and even better service. I loved all the amuses bouches, especially the gruyère profiterole, and the chocolate tart with peanut butter ice cream was unbelievable. Will definitely be going back

Really sad to hear that this talented chef & fantastic local restaurant has decided to close its doors . We have had many a good dinner & indeed lunches in this establishment some of the best high end cooking in the City & in our opinion the country. We visited a few times a year & only ever saw happy & satisfied customers. We are left struggling to see where all these previous horrific reviews have come from. A sad loss to Harborne & the Birmingham dining scene.
