The abandoned Dunmore Park House is a fascinating site, worth a visit while it still stands. Instead of following your sat nav, it's best to park at Dunmore Village and cross the road, as the house is hidden within the woods and takes about 15 minutes to reach on foot.
Great abandoned old mansion totally overgrown with vegetation to explore and imagine what it must’ve been like. Great place to play hinde n seek if u have kids!Visited onWeekdayWait time1 hr+
It is a shame this house is not treated with more respect. One can see that back in its day it was impressive. Now it is litter strew, graffitied all over and Mother nature is taking it back slowly. With steel beems in place here and there, rubbel piles off to one side, it is evident at one time in its demise it was cared for. It is now situated in the middle of a forest and care is needed to walk to it. Parking - Pineapple house Path - main path from Pineapple house is large and maintained. If not going to see the stables; before the bend in the road you will see a path leading off to the left into the woods, follow it to reach Dunmore park house. If going to the stables carry on round a d then use the path from it through the woods to reach the house. Upkeep- None, litter is all over so take care. Walls have graffiti and a few fallen stone blocks here and there. Disability- not for those in wheelchairs or scooters. My husband has a cane and was able to get there with care Osteoarthritis in both hips and knees It is a must see though, the entrance is still very impressive. Take a walk all around the house, taking care to avoid the holes of fallen stones into the corridor beneath. It is structurally still sound as it is, however, that can change over time so take care. Was blown away by this place.
Very cool ruins lots to see and explore. But people have no respect trash all over the place! I dont understand how people can do that. Parking: We parked at Dunmore on the road just to the east. There is a little marked off side area next to a 60mph road. But car was still safe there. Its generally a tricky walk and we went road the estate to explore everything tower, Pineapple, stables, church right next to stables not on google map and finally the main house area. If this sounds interesting to you will be worth it. Just please don't add any more to the trash problem but don't know how it can possibly be worse.
A stunning old building with lots to explore. Set in some beautiful, peaceful woodland. Don't forget to check out the stables too.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Great place to explore, many nooks and cranny’s. Could only imagine how beautiful it once was. Other buildings within walking distance to go and see like the pineapple house and a what looks to be stables. Take care as it’s all derelict. Can’t advise on getting there as I’m sure I went the wrong way.
Nice place and a lot bigger than expectedVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Lovely abandoned house. Would love to stay in the pineapple houseVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The derelict dunmore park house and former school, what I found interesting was the hidden architecture the grooves in the stone walls that once held the fancy wood panels and plasterwork in place the wine cellars and fireplaces
Ruined building. Exciting, but dangerous. Not beautiful but definitely picturesque. Combines well with the Pineapple - the whole walk taking about an hour.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
