We were so thankful for the level of customer service that we received at the Tree Inn. They prepared a room for us at extremely short notice because we were camping nearby, but due to bad weather had to call it. We were met with a warm welcome and very friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean, warm and well-furnished. The building itself was very interesting too, with lots of Tudor character. We are so grateful for all of the help and hospitality, would definitely stay here again and would recommend. Noteworthy details: It's a little bit tricky to find, but the staff are very helpful and will give you directions over the phone.
We arrived at The Tree Inn in Bude on the 27th of April 2023. We were greeted by the Landlord who explained everything to us in detail. During the course of the evening having a drink in the bar, Simon became our lecturer by giving us some history Pertaining to his establishment to which I found to be fascinating. Not forgetting Dennis aka The Menace who rendered assistance to some food purchase that lacked the tastiness, so he made some delicious gravy to go with it, thank you the menace. Simon thanks for your help. This man in question displayed professionalism in all aspects and made us feel very welcome. Keep the history going to all new guests. Brilliant time god bless. Rooms: Tidy and clean
A lovely old pub with loads of rustic character. The rooms are clean and adequately furnished with comfortable beds. The shared bathroom facilities are good, but bit dated here and there. Simon was a great host and the selection of beers and ciders were excellent. The shared kitchen is a great idea so you can cook what you like along with the complimentary continental breakfast on offer. Pubs like this need our support even more in these difficult times. I look forward to staying there again soon.
Brilliant old inn with a fascinating history, incorporating old buildings alongside. In a quiet side street, this pub has plenty of interesting features. Good beer and friendly staff. Small courtyard seating outside.
We came across this restaurant accidentally, in a desperate search of a not fully booked place around Bude in this busy half term holiday week. And we actually enjoyed the best dinner since we moved to England from Italy 3 years ago! Chef Andy Campbell has the magic to combine fresh, local and even simple ingredients to gain superlative result. And the wine selection is excellent as well. Absolutely recommended!
Went for a trip on my motorbike for the weekend and booked at this place. There was a warm welcome from Simon who I have to say thank you as he made our stay worth the drive, very welcoming. There is no parking on site but he kindly let us park our motorbikes in the beer garden over the nights ! Reasonable prices great staff and would 100% recommend this place to anyone
Lovely old pub to have a drink , came here back in March for a meal on a Saturday night and quite enjoyed it it was very busy . Decided to book for Sunday lunch as we were around here for a long weekend. Bad mistake the carvery was very poor , the meat 3 choices was fatty and the vegetables and potatoes average, began to eat it and was warm to say the least . Sounds harsh but definitely won't be going back .
This place is amazing. It has a great selection of gins. We ate in the pool bar as other tables were taken & the food was exquisite. I had rib eye steak which isn't my usual choice but was one of the nicest steaks I've ever had. The seasoning was just perfection on everything & portions were a good size. Staff were great & the locals were super friendly, even looked after our Great Dane so we could eat our food in peace. Only criticism was the lack of a children's menu so limited choice for our 5 year old. Can't wait to go back!
Very friendly welcome from the hosts. Made us feel special and we're very helpful with the wine selection. Food was excellent, service great. We returned the second night and the hosts remembered us and which wine we had from the previous night. Food again was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone. Well done.
Had Sunday lunch today at the Tree Inn. Was met by friendly welcome from barman and offered a small sample of an unfamiliar Ale Tintagel Ale, which was very nice. Spent a short while in the pleasant sunny courtyard before going in to the restaurant for lunch. My wife had the roast chicken which although looking a little anaemic, she enjoyed. I had the roast beef, which was quite chewy even after removing around 15% of inedible fatty gristle from a not huge portion and I’m not a fussy eater. Good selection of veg and the wine gravy was nice. Food other than cauliflower cheese which was piping hot was served only just warm, so by the time we finished eating it was quite cold. At £18 for the beef main course and £16 for the chicken, it should have been better and this is probably why there was only us and one other table occupied.
