The hotel is a little dated and the rooms are also BUT for the price you pay and the location and local transport links this can be easily overlooked. The bar is decent card only though and the entertainment is mostly focused around the slightly older generation however we're in our mid to late 40's and enjoyed it too.
It was our second stay in this hotel. We checked in on 21.9. And thanks to Cameron the room he upgraded us to was fantastic. He went beyond and above to make our stay excellent. Recommend to stay again. Thank u again Jamie and Martina
The staff were very nice .nThe room not so nice.nNobody could complain about the food unless you were very fussy it was hot tasty and plenty of it.nDownstairs reception ,bar area was acceptable. On arriving Monday lift out of order ,and it was still out of order on leaving Friday this was not good Stairs landings and handrails needed a good cleaning. The front of hotel is a mess dead hanging baskets and planters and lots of rubbish in what could be a lovely garden .nGet a local gardener in to tidy it up if I'd not arrived by coach I wouldn't have wanted to stay .
Had a lovely stay, for the second time at the Trecarn.nJade and Davana made us feel very welcome.nIt's really handy for the 22 bus service. Goes to Exeter or finishes at Paignton the other direction.nNo car park. On street parking in residential area. Coach car park at rear. Weekends are quieter so you may be able to park there.nVegetarian optio are available, e but you have to inform them before meal times. Self-service when we stayed for breakfast on Monday morning.
No idea what some of the recent reviews are about. They are so far away from our experience I had to re-read them to check it was for the right hotel.nnThe room was spotless and with all decor good, lovely view, checking in was fine and the breakfast was wonderful. Cereal, yogurt, fruit and an eight item vegetarian breakfast which the chef kindly cooked veggie sausages, despite over 100 people at breakfast.nnIt was £35 for a twin room with two full breakfasts included. I stay in all types of hotels, once a week. This is the single best, value for money stay I have ever had. It equated to around £20 for the room. £70 for all of it would've been reasonable, half that is incredible.nnI was surprised too how big it was. Over 300 rooms, 500 guests. Notwithstanding people unfortunately having things stolen, any other criticism is baffling and it is obviously hugely popular.
