Next to the busy A31 an ideal transient stop over next to the petrol station. The rooms and decor are dated but they are just having an interior refit. Free parking is a bonus. The staff are friendly and welcoming. This is also a pet friendly hotel. 32 rooms spread on Ground and 1st floor, the rooms which I have seen inside are all spacious.
The newly decorated room was fresh and clean, the manager, Kirsty, was friendly and helpful as were May and the young man whose name I didn't get. The hotel is on the west bound duel carriage way of the A31 Stoney Cross, we went on a mystery tour on our first night, through the New Forest, saw donkeys, ponies and horses, who are busy keeping the grass trimmed down. We soon found a route around the area and spent three wonderful nights with our new Travelodge friends. If turning east had been easier it would have been a five out of five, but not even the busy road could spoil our enjoyment. We will be back in the near future.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the walks in the forest it was a nice location. I just didnt like there was know shops or anything around us apart from the over priced garage next door. Rooms were very big and clean. Definitely would go there again in the future.Rooms: 4/5
Not a bad little hotel, reasonable rooms and good value for money. Reception staff are very helpful. Good place to stay right near the new forest, would definitely return to this hotel, great base, and would highly recommend to all if you want a good value for money stay in this areaRooms: 4/5
The Travelodge is everything you would expect a Travelodge to be. Our room was adequate for the two nights we stayed. We had everything we needed for our stay. I was a little disappointed with the breakfast to go mainly because I'm very particular about milk and uht milk is awful at the best of times however I fully understand why it is used. The items in the breakfast box tho were good items. You got a bag of cornflakes with a cartoon of pure orange juice, a flapjack and a pan au chocolat. The box also has a bowl for your cornflakes which is fully recyclable. Our bed was very comfortable and myself and my husband had two good night's sleep. We didn't hear much traffic on the main road but being winter our windows did remain closed.
Dirty carpet, dirty mirror, dirty chairs. Undersheet looked unwashed, sticky remote. Dated. I paid £90 for when a hostel may have been cleaner. Did I gain anything from the experience... maybe hepatitis.Rooms: 1/5
After reading some of the reviews I was dreading staying here. However overall the stay was good. A little noisy but to be expected given it’s location. The room was clean, and fine for a family of 3. We could see over the car park from our room which was nice for keeping an eye on our car. There is a garage located close which was handy. New Forrest is a stone throw away and is truly beautiful. My only down side is the location means that it’s a bit of a pain getting anywhere all round a one way system, however that’s not the fault of the accommodation and the drives can be very beautiful. Just can ‘nip’ anywhere. Overall though very pleasant stay.
The service was first rate and the room exactly what you want from a Travelodge hotel. The only thing that ruined it for me was a dog barking next door and it's family trying to calm the dog down by taking it out on the hour and banging their door instead of closing it. All n all a bad nights sleep. X The staff were lovely and attentive. The Londis shop a few metres away is invaluable also
Very nice hotel, rooms modest but clean, service very nice, especially Linda . Great place in front of the hotel to go out with a dog. Nice box breakfast to take away or to your room. I recommend staying there as much as possibleRooms: 4/5
On booking this Travelodge I wasn't expecting a pretty location, fully aware it sat next to a fairy busy road. I was expecting a certain level of hygiene which I found lacking. We checked in at 6.30pm only to be told the room might not have towels, they hadn't checked yet. Corridors seemed slightly shabby and on entering the room there were no towels, so someone had to bring them up. The floor looked as if it hadn't been hoovered, there was a hole in the supposedly clean bedding which also had black hairs on it and the two chairs in the room also looked shabby with holes. The sink had toothpaste stains from the last occupants. I would query whether the room had been cleaned or just a change of bedding. Unfortunately we visited when it was really hot and the room had no temperature control so we had a fan on all night which was noisy and uncomfortable.
